Got a call from some Indian call centre saying they were from Eon Next. I told them we never take calls like that and just hung up. They still call me every day, at least once, which is really annoying when I’m trying to run my business. They definitely aren’t with Eon Next. Someone even tried to switch my supplier without my okay, so now I've put passwords on all my accounts. I’d recommend you do the same, so they can’t mess with your details or pretend you agreed to anything. Makes it much harder for them to switch you over to some dodgy company.

They called me a few times, saying they were from British Gas and that someone had passed my number on, even though they wanted to speak to another person. On the third ring, I answered and told them straight up they had the wrong number and to quit bothering me, but they just brushed me off and kept going with their sales talk. Honestly, I don’t think it was really British Gas - sounded more like some call centre in India. Total scam, if you ask me.

I received a rather alarming phone call from this number, from a chap with an Indian accent. He claimed I'd been hacked and there was an urgent issue with my computer. According to him, my Microsoft licence had lapsed, and he insisted that I pay £200 to sort it out, otherwise my computer would be shut down permanently. He urged me to go online to complete a bank transfer while he was on the line, and also wanted me to grant him remote access through some portal as I did so. He mentioned his company was called Help 93, claiming they partnered with Microsoft for support. When I probed further with questions, he became quite irate, and I ultimately said no. I definitely suspect this is a scam.

Got a call from a bloke named Mark, sounded like he had an accent. I wasn’t following what he was saying, so I just hung up. Moments later, he rang straight back and asked, “Why’d you hang up?” I asked him what he wanted, and he said something about a computer maintenance issue. I told him I don’t even own a computer and ended the call sharpish. Definitely a scam, watch out!

I got loads of calls from them saying my computer was full of errors and warnings. Once, I let them access a virtual machine just to see what they'd do, and it became obvious they were making stuff up about my PC problems so they could try and rip me off. Total scam, definitely avoid answering their calls.

I've had multiple calls from this number, insisting that my computer was experiencing errors and sending out alarming notifications. On one occasion, I allowed them access to a virtual machine, and it quickly became clear that they were spinning a web of deceit about my system's problems - all to milk me for cash (a classic scam).

Steer clear of these crooks; don't engage with them!

I’ve been swindled on my computer. It seems there’s been quite a bit of unauthorised tampering happening. I genuinely believed they were above board. I had simply reported an issue online. Being 75, I guess I’ve got a target painted on my back. Surely there’s a way to track down this phone number?

I really believed I was being cautious. Just last week, I flagged an issue with Microsoft, but it ended up being a con. To my shame, I divulged my computer's password to them. Now, I’m quite anxious. Being 75, I fear it’s going to be quite expensive to rectify the situation. Who are these individuals that share our private information, anyway?

I received a rather dubious phone call earlier today from a chap identifying himself as Martin. He claimed to be representing Microsoft and insisted that my computer was in a perilous condition. According to him, he could demonstrate the issue and assist me in rectifying it. When I requested his contact number for a callback, he promptly provided one. However, upon dialling it, I was met with an automated message stating that the number had disconnected. Quite suspicious, if you ask me!

Honestly, when are these crooks gonna just quit or get caught? Got a call today from some bloke claiming to be Mike from Microsoft, saying my PC's in danger. Then some guy, I think his name was Mark Williams, supposedly from TalkTalk, warned me that if I didn’t do what they said, my computer’d just stop working! Can't believe people fall for this rubbish.

some guy said he was from microsoft tech support (yeah right!), telling me they got alerts about issues inside our pc. he even read out some long number he called our "license key" or something, trying to sound legit. first he called from 00135144513, then after i cut him off, he kept ringing me from 02081448920 non-stop. total scamps.

I received a call from someone with a strong Indian accent who was quite insistent and wouldn't accept any refusal. Unfortunately, they were unable to provide me with any specific information about my computer, only repeating that there was 'an issue'.

Today, I received a call from this individual who insisted that I should divulge personal details, despite my clear refusal. He assured me that it wasn’t a scam, but I quickly ended the conversation. To my surprise, he attempted to reach me four more times within just a few minutes! He even had the audacity to say I was being silly for not taking him seriously. It seemed that my husband’s firm approach finally made him understand that we weren’t interested in his persistence. I really didn’t want to be rude, but it was clearly the only way to make him pay attention.

I've received a total of four calls from this number today. I picked up the first couple of times, and the chap claimed my computer was at risk. I thanked him for the heads-up and mentioned I’d look into it, then hung up. He rang me again, questioning why I’d ended the call. I decided to hang up once more and chose to ignore the last two attempts.

Regrettably, it seems the authorities aren't particularly concerned. Should you attempt to file a report, they'll likely dismiss it, claiming that no offence has actually occurred, irrespective of the circumstances at hand.
9 years
Imagine if those Microsoft fraudsters actually filed a complaint with the authorities! How amusing would that be? They’d be falling into their own trap! It’s quite ironic, really; the very people who try to swindle us would end up with the police knocking on their door. I can't help but chuckle at the thought!

I received a call from someone who purported to be from Microsoft, but his English was so poor that I immediately realised it was a scam. I hung up, and they actually called me back, questioning why I had disconnected! I told him that I didn’t own a computer, which clearly exposed his deceit. I ended the conversation once more. My heart goes out to the elderly and those more susceptible, as they can easily be ensnared by such dubious schemes.

I received a call from someone claiming there was an issue with my computer. As soon as I pointed out that it sounded like a scam, the caller became quite irate and disrespectful. I ended the conversation, but they had the audacity to ring me back not once, but twice afterward!

I received a call from this number earlier today and promptly ended the conversation. They rang back, sounding rather upset, and questioned why I had hung up. The caller, who introduced herself as Emily and had a rather thick Asian accent, asserted that she was a certified technician from Microsoft and claimed that my computer had been flagged for numerous viruses. She then urged me to visit Tidythepc.com and to download a PC viewer executable file. While that website might be legitimate, I can't shake the feeling that scammers could be exploiting their remote access software. At that point, I decided to cut the call again. After a quick search online, I came across warnings indicating it was indeed a scam. According to Microsoft's Virtual Agent, the company never makes unsolicited calls. I ran a thorough scan with McAfee, and guess what? Not a single virus in sight! If you get a call from this number, I highly recommend you just hang up!

I've had a rather uncanny experience akin to the ones mentioned previously. A chap named "Peter Williams" rang me up - his accent definitely suggested he hails from the subcontinent. He claimed he could rectify some supposed issues on my computer. When I mentioned I’d look up his profile online to verify his credibility, he turned quite abrasive and rude. I hung up on him twice, but alas, the calls kept coming. I eventually had to just ignore them altogether.

I’ve encountered a rather similar situation as those mentioned earlier. After receiving numerous calls from a rather pushy yet vague individual identifying himself as 'Online Support', specifically a chap named John Williams, I became quite wary and refrained from entering any information he requested into my computer. He claimed to be affiliated with Microsoft, insisting that there were dire alerts appearing on my device that could potentially lead to its demise. When I expressed my desire to consult someone first, he cheerfully said he’d ring back. I suspect he did attempt to reach me again, but I couldn't be sure as no number was revealed when I dialled 1471. I tried returning the number he provided on two occasions, only to be met with an automated response from 'Online Technicians…'

My sister has been inundated with a barrage of calls from someone claiming to be "Daniel Ocean." He even tossed in a reference to a personnel number, PO1DJ-2, reminiscent of George Clooney's character in Ocean’s 11. Eventually, she succumbed to his relentless claims that her laptop was experiencing issues and ended up allowing him to guide her into downloading a so-called "fix it" app. He mentioned it would set her back £80 for the supposed repairs. Though she refrained from handing over her banking information directly, she harbours a nagging suspicion that he might still find a way to access her personal data and siphon funds from her online banking account.

this bloke with a strong eastern european accent called me saying he was straight from microsoft. he claimed my pc was infected with loads of nasty bugs and insisted i give him remote access. he said if i didnt let him in, my computer would be completely bricked within half an hour. when i asked him why microsoft hadn’t emailed me directly about it, he just kept saying they weren’t allowed to do that anymore, for like the last 3 years or something.

I believe I may have been well and truly caught out! The caller had such a convincing British accent as they claimed to have spotted issues with my computer - typical! I even reached out to my provider, TalkTalk, but they were of no assistance. To top it off, I was juggling the care of my sprightly 102-year-old mother. After speaking with TalkTalk, I proceeded with a remote diagnostic, and I've been vigilantly monitoring my bank account ever since, thankfully spotting no further transactions. However, I did receive a follow-up email asking if everything was running smoothly now.

I received a rather dubious phone call purporting to be from a legitimate Windows support centre. They claimed to verify their identity by reciting my Windows licence ID, which raised my eyebrows.
