Just got a call today, 15th Jan, from someone claiming I owed £2400 in PPI and needed to buy a 10% UCash voucher to sort it out. The number they gave me was 02081446936. When I said I couldn’t pay £240, he quickly dropped it to £40. I rang the number back and got through to someone in an office that he said had about 25 to 40 people but wasn’t sure exactly. Later, he called me, but the caller ID showed a Stockholm country code. When I asked about it, he insisted he worked for the Ministry of Justice on Petty France Road, London - a place I know fairly well. I asked him to describe the street and he said he had no window. He also claimed to be a “government agent,” which sounded totally off, especially since I work in government and that’s not how we’d say things. Then he just hung up. Definitely a dodgy scam if you ask me.

I just got a call from some bloke claiming I’m due more than £3000 from a PPI claim. Told him straight away I never even made one. Still, he kept pushing and said he’d send a solicitor over with a cheque. He gave me his phone number to verify, so I looked it up and ended up on this website.

They claimed it was a legit PPI refund, but then asked me for 10% upfront. They also threatened to have a lawyer come round with documents and a cheque. Really dodgy behaviour if you ask me.

I had loads of calls from them saying I was owed some cash, then they said I needed to print a voucher for a 10% discount or something, and after that someone would come by to pick it up. Proper dodgy if you ask me.

Some bloke with a strong freshie accent claimed he was ringing from the UKASH main office. He asked me to print out a £20 voucher and then read the code to him. I just told him to jog on.
