Got a call on my tablet number, which hardly anyone has. The caller said they were from Carphone Warehouse doing some promo. The guy sounded like he was from South Asia. He was pushing an "latest" iPhone 12 deal for about £35 a month. I told him that 12 isn’t the newest model and messed around with him for a bit before he just dropped the call. Then BT tried to call back but ended up hanging up after around 30 seconds. Definitely felt like a scam to me.

Utterly ridiculous! This bloke claims to be from Carphone Warehouse. When I probed a bit further about which location he was ringing from, he flatly refused to disclose any details! I questioned his reasoning, and he had the audacity to reply, "I can’t tell you!" I received a rather peculiar phone call earlier from someone purporting to be from Carphone Warehouse. Imagine my surprise when, two hours later, he rings me up again, this time rather inappropriately quizzing me about my relationship status and complimenting my voice. To top it all off, he suggested I consider a rather dubious proposal of marriage for just one evening! He even claimed to have stumbled upon my number in a rather unsavoury location - a public loo, no less! I must say, this isn’t the first time I’ve been caught in a scam; I had a run-in with some Barclays fraud earlier this year. Quite the year for dubious characters, I must say!
