For the past few weeks, we've received calls at our home from a bloke claiming to be Nick Smith from Barclays Finance. Quite frankly, I’ve never heard of them and he couldn’t seem to provide any details about the company’s address or anything legitimate. It all felt very dodgy, to say the least. I’ve told them firmly not to contact us again as we have no interest in taking out a loan. What a scam!

This number continually rings our home phone claiming to be from Barclay's Finance, attempting to peddle loans. I suspect it’s a scam, as the woman on the other end couldn't provide any credible details about the company, and the number doesn’t correspond with anything legitimate. To make matters worse, her accent was quite unusual, and she mentioned a Nick Smith? I’ve made it clear to them not to ring our number again.

There was a strange silent ring on my landline, and when I called back, a man with a Chinese accent answered immediately. He didn’t even bother to mention which company I was connected to.

I received a rather dubious phone call from a foreign bloke claiming to represent Barclays, offering me a loan with an interest rate as low as 3%. I explained I was preoccupied with something important and asked if I could call back later. He seemed fine with that, but then pressed me to clarify what my issue was. I reiterated that I was busy, and upon his insistence, he told me to ring 02081443901 and mention "Nick Smith." Immediately, we grew suspicious, as we're aware that Barclays typically uses 0800 numbers for their services. So, we did a quick search for the number associated with O2 and stumbled upon this website, along with a few others, revealing that these callers are fraudulent.

Having come across several comments, we decided to give the number a bell after receiving a missed call. The gentleman on the line, who hardly articulated himself clearly, introduced himself as Alan Johnson, claiming to be representing Barclays regarding a loan offer. He asked if I was Mrs. ... to which I confirmed that I was indeed. Then, he inquired about when I might be interested in taking out a loan. However, when I mentioned that I had already secured one with Barclays, he abruptly ended the call. I doubt I'll be hearing from him again!
