10 yearsI got a call from a bloke named Paul Simon who claimed to be from the Dispatch over at the City County Court in London. He told me I had some PPI cheques waiting for me.Paul SimonDispatchCity County CourtLondon10 yearsWatch out, this is definitely a con. Got a call from that number today too. When I rang back, the same bloke answered, acted like he was putting me through to someone else but then suddenly his accent switched. I kept grilling him, asking why he’d come to drop off the cheque in person instead of just posting it. He sounded all rattled after that and just kept repeating the same lines like a robot.10 yearsGot a call from some bloke claiming he's from the city county court about a PPI refund. He said I'd get £225 on a paysafe card and told me to ring him back on this number. Then he mentioned a fella named Paul Martyn who’d deliver a cheque for £3100. Felt kinda dodgy to me.Paul Martyn10 yearsDon’t fall for this one, it’s a total scam! I got a call today from someone claiming to be from the London County Court, saying they had a cheque for me regarding PPI from Barclaycard. They said they knew my home address and gave me a reference number along with the name of an officer who would deliver the cheque, a certain Paul Martin - sounded a bit dodgy to me! They insisted I’d have to sign paperwork when the cheque was delivered, one copy for me and one for them, which set off alarm bells immediately. I asked why they couldn’t just send the cheque through the post instead, and the man on the line, who spoke with an Indian accent, said he’d connect me to his supervisor. Then this “supervisor,” called Alex Paul (also an Indian name), explained that after the cheque cleared I’d have to pay a solicitor’s fee of £250, probably by card or something. I cut the call right there. BE WARNED, THIS IS A SCAM! The caller ID showed as ‘unidentified’.London County CourtPaul MartinIndiaAlex PaulAlex10 yearsDon't trust them, pure scammers! Never share any of your details with these people.10 yearsI've had a few calls from someone called Sam Hunt who claims he's with the County Courts in London. He told me there's a cheque regarding some PPI but said I have to pay around £200 first. Apparently, after the cheque clears, I need to get a payment slip from Paypoint and then show it to the person delivering the cheque. Seems a bit dodgy to me.Sam HuntLondonPayPoint10 yearsOh, and I almost forgot, the guy calling said he was Sam Hunt and he claimed to be from the London county court.Sam HuntLondon County Court10 yearsIt's absolutely ridiculous how some individuals have the audacity to show up uninvited at your front door, demanding that you complete endless paperwork.
