Got a message saying a payment to a place I bought from hadn’t gone through and they wanted me to confirm it. They even included a Royal Mail tracking number, which made it sound legit at first. Don’t fall for it and BLOCK this number - total scam!

I got a call from 01462455717 saying they're from Amazon's security team. The woman said some bloke called David Thompson was messing about with my account. She had a really thick Asian accent which made it tough to catch everything. Seems like these scammers are picking local-ish numbers to trick folks!

A number showing as local rang me, and the person claimed to be from Amazon’s security team. They said some bloke named David Thompson was using my email without permission and urged me to check it on my computer. When I mentioned that I’d already checked via my phone, she said it wouldn’t register that way. She kept pushing me to turn on my computer, but I could tell straightaway it was dodgy. I told her I’d track her down and give her a proper telling off.

I just received a robo call from this number saying I was about to be arrested over unpaid taxes. When I rang back, some bloke with an Indian accent answered, claiming to be from the "HMRC Audit Department". Total scam. I told him, “You’re a fraud, and so am I - I’m from Delhi too!” He actually replied, “Wanna join us?” Hilarious. Also, when he picked up, he asked for my name, so I said, “You called me, aren’t you meant to know who you’re calling?” Obviously he didn’t have a clue. Don’t give these conmen any personal info.

Got a call from the same bloke this morning around 10.20, and when I asked for his number, he didn’t hesitate and gave it straight away. He told me to check the bottom right first, then left, and give him what I see there. Well, on the right side, I’ve got my clock, so I just told him the time. On the left side is my favourite game, spider solitaire, so I asked him for tips to win it. He got pretty annoyed, said I was wasting his time, and threatened that my computer would go black in half an hour. I told him to get lost and stop wasting my time. An hour later, my computer’s still fine!

Today I got a call from a guy speaking with an Indian accent. He introduced himself as James Thompson and said he was from ‘Cybercrime’, telling me someone in Devon was accessing my Amazon account without permission. He asked if he could get into my computer to “sort out” the issue. Right away I found it fishy and asked for his company details, he gave me ‘Amazon Cybercrime’ with an address at 13 Hanover Street, London, W1S 1YH. The call showed up as an international number, but when I pressed him on that, he told me it wasn’t a real phone number but some kind of internet URL for his computer! He then gave me a landline number, 02081443455... obviously I didn't bother calling back. This is totally a SCAM, so watch out!

I got a call from this number earlier, saying someone tried to make a £500 purchase on Amazon using my info. They told me to switch on my computer so they could guide me through some steps to fix it. I asked for the lady’s name and a number for their head office, but she just handed the phone over to a bloke called Mike, who then gave me this number. It’s obviously a scam, these lot are proper scammers and need to be shut down.

Someone named David Max phoned me from this number, claiming he needed remote access to sort out my McAfee Live Safe update. Lately, I've gotten loads of calls like this, asking similar things. Today I got a call from someone claiming my PC was in serious danger of being hacked. They tricked me into running a few commands to get remote access. Their endgame was to push some software on me for £200. They wouldn't hand control back till we got firm and mentioned calling the police. They said they were Microsoft reps, watching my computer and warned they could revoke my licence and cut my internet. Definitely let the officials know about this scam.

Got a call from a woman with an Indian accent saying she was from Microsoft support. Hey, I just left a comment a bit earlier about getting a call from Daniel Brown from a garage. Then I checked out another page and saw someone using the same name, "Daniel Brown," saying they had an excellent experience with the company who phoned them and telling others to trust those callers. Honestly, be careful with these calls!

I just got off a call lasting about 20 minutes from a man with an Asian accent calling himself Daniel Brown from some "Service Station" using this number. He kept pushing me to give my mobile number and had me try to check something on my laptop, though I couldn't really make out what he was after. When I refused to log onto my computer, he got increasingly annoyed. He was saying something about a David Thompson misusing my personal info. In the end, he gave up but warned that he'd pass my details to his team, and they’d supposedly shut down my PC or something. So far, nothing’s gone wrong with my computer... so yeah, not as scary as he tried to make it sound!

This phone number is still being used for scams. First, a lady called and said there was an urgent problem with my Mac, asking me to press some key near the Ctrl one. Then a man with an Indian accent took over and used TeamViewer, showing a screen filling up quickly with supposed errors and faults. After that, he tried to sell me a support plan - £205 for 4 years or £290 for lifetime coverage. Right after I switched off the Mac, they kept ringing back about six or seven times in quick succession.

Got a call from someone who said he was from ID Support in London, mentioning 14 Hanover Street SW11 9AH. He tried telling my elderly folks that they had a Microsoft issue or something like that. I rang him back and he seemed shocked I managed to get through, answering as James Morris. No clue if that’s his real name or if he actually lives at that address, but he said he owns a fabric business in London. Once my mate tracks down the number, I’m thinking of dropping by for a visit.
