Our dear 87-year-old mother has been plagued by calls from this number. The moment she picks up the phone, all she hears is "Goodbye." When we try to return the call, we’re met with a message saying the number is not valid. Given that she isn't in the best of health and is starting to show early signs of dementia, she's become quite distressed, even believing that someone may be lurking around the house with ill intentions. She doesn’t use a computer or mobile phone, which makes this all the more worrying for us. We feel compelled to report these individuals, as they truly seem oblivious to the distress their actions can cause to vulnerable people.

I've received a couple of calls from these individuals, and I must say, both of them appeared to be situated in India. When I inquired about their company, they mentioned "Windows" and "IT Support," claiming to be certified partners of Microsoft, which frankly seems rather dubious. As I continued to question them about their identity, they became quite irritated and abruptly hung up on me. I would strongly advise steering clear of them!

I've lodged a complaint with OFCOM (cheers for the link, Mike). We're plagued by this 'Goodbye' ringtone several times a week, popping up at all hours from 8 in the morning to 9 in the evening. It's absolutely infuriating! Just to clarify, we don't have any connection to Speak Talk, and never have, not even once.

I reckon these callers must think I'm daft enough to actually let them access my computer. I'm really hoping they stop bothering me soon. We're signed up with Talktalk, and to be honest, they've always been spot on with their service for us, so I can't see how these people could be linked to them in any way.

I reckon it’s safe to assume that everyone here is quite fond of a good chinwag!

This evening, we received a call from this number, with individuals asserting they were a computer security company based in Florida. They asked us to switch on our computer and adhere to their guidance. Naturally, we declined their offer, politely thanked them for their time, and hung up. Afterward, we dialled 1471, which provided us with the following number: 0208 144 3400.

We’ve been getting calls from this number persistently. From what I’ve gathered and read from others, it appears to be some sort of hacker trying to gain access to your computer, potentially to then fleece you for a bogus antivirus removal service. Quite likely, they’re the ones who’ve infected your system in the first place. It’s crucial to report this number to Oftel, urging them to put a stop to these shady activities. It’s definitely a scam.

This evening, we received a call from this number. The individuals on the line insisted they were part of a cybersecurity company based in Florida, supposedly working on behalf of Microsoft. They urged us to access our computer and adhere to their instructions. Obviously, we declined and hung up. After that, we used 1471 to trace the call, which brought us to 0208 144 3400.

Just received another peculiar call from an unknown number. Who on earth are these individuals? They ring but don't leave any message whatsoever. It's all rather baffling!

I receive a call from this number nearly every day, and it's always the same maddening experience. As soon as I pick up, an American voice chimes in with a curt 'goodbye' before the line drops silent. It's become rather vexing, and I'm seriously thinking about switching our phone number altogether. I've tried to trace who’s behind this, but to no avail. It's all quite baffling, really!

We receive countless calls every month from this number, and the moment we pick up, we’re greeted by a pre-recorded voice that simply says, "Goodbye," before cutting off the line. It's rather strange! I can't shake the feeling that it's somehow linked to another call we had previously, where a bloke with an accent tried to persuade us that our computer was infected with a virus and insisted we turn it on so he could assist us in sorting it out. Quite bizarre and frankly quite infuriating!

I’ve been getting at least two calls a day from a withheld number, and it’s always the same drill. A foreign-sounding voice tells me I’ve got some sort of computer error, insisting I’ve downloaded something I shouldn’t have! They’re pretending to be from Microsoft or Windows or some such nonsense! Just today, I received two calls in quick succession-during the second one, they even left this number! Honestly, that voice is incredibly irritating, practically shouting at me! Has anyone else had to deal with this? I’m really struggling to figure out who this number belongs to!

In the last fortnight, we’ve received two calls from this number. Each time, we’re greeted by a recorded message that simply says “goodbye” before abruptly cutting off the line. It’s becoming quite bothersome, to say the least!

What on earth is going on with this number? I can’t seem to shake off these incessant calls - every time we pick up, it’s just some robotic voice saying “Goodbye.” We’ve tried returning the call, but it’s met with a message saying the number’s not available. It’s absolutely infuriating! We must be getting at least five of these calls a month. What’s the deal?

I've been getting the same calls on our Wick too! We're doing everything in our power to unearth who's behind it. As soon as we manage to identify the caller, I'll update everyone else.

I received a call from this number at half past eight on the 9th of March, 2011! It’s definitely a scam, so for goodness sake, don’t engage with your computer. The person on the other end will try to guide you through setting up some remote access nonsense. Once they’ve got control, they’ll disable your identity protection and push you to purchase dodgy software. Just hang up right away!

We also receive the odd call from this number, where a woman's voice, sounding distinctly American, simply says 'goodbye' before abruptly disconnecting. It’s quite puzzling, especially as the calls often come in quite late at night or in the wee hours.

Received a call from this number today. They inquired about our computer operating system. We informed them that we weren’t up for a chat about that and promptly hung up! Honestly, do they think I’m daft or something?

It makes a reappearance in May 2011, but it's just an obscure message consisting of a word or two.
