Got a call from someone claiming to be from my credit card company and they sent me a one-time code, didn't use it though. I ended the call right away. Later I rang my actual credit card provider and they had no record of any contact or that number. Sounds dodgy, so watch out.

I usually let all the calls go to voicemail first, then I use that who called me site to find out if anything dodgy tried ringing. If I spot a suspicious number, I just block it straight away.

Since the number wasn’t familiar at all, I just let it ring out and didn’t bother answering. There was no voicemail or anything from the caller either. After reading all the reviews here, I’m pretty relieved I didn’t pick up the phone!

I wasn’t up for any sales calls and they claimed to be from some debt help service. I played along and fed them some lines. They kept saying it wasn’t a marketing call. Then they said I’d missed payments on a debt, to which I said, “So if it’s not marketing, sounds like a scam?” The person on the other end acted like I’d offended them and tried to sound all important. I just hung up and blocked the number straight away. That kind of bossy attitude makes me think older folks could easily fall for this, so I flagged it as a scam.
