This number called me, some guy with an Indian accent asking if I wanted an upgrade. I acted like I was a 94-year-old bloke and had a right laugh keeping him on the line for about 40 minutes, chatting nonsense about serving in India during WW2. Pretended to pop off to grab pens, paper, and fake a delivery at the door. Finished by asking if he could even sleep at night, calling him a lowlife scammer preying on the elderly. He told me to "go f#### your mother". I shot back saying my mum would be 134 years old by now. Proper good way to waste his time, had a laugh. Worth a go!

I’ve noticed that any calls coming from places like London or Reading are typically dodgy. The tax office doesn’t trouble me anymore, and I can only hope the insurance claims folks have finally given up. Calls from Manchester and London often masquerade as if they're from Amazon or BT, but life carries on regardless. I once had a right go at one of them, and they ended up calling me back hurling insults from India!

This bloke with a really strong Asian accent claimed he was from Carphone Warehouse and had a deal on the iPhone 13. I told him I already own an iPhone and when he asked which one, I said something like an 11 (never remember the exact model). Then he went on rambling about an iPhone 12 (huh? from a 13 deal?) plus paying off all my medical bills. Yeah, right! I politely declined, ended the chat, and blocked the number.

What a complete con! It was clearly a dodgy character who posed as someone from Carphone Warehouse. He claimed his name was Jason and had a rather strong Indian accent. He was offering me an upgrade, but when I mentioned I'd just done that, he quizzed me on my phone model. I struggled to recall precisely which one, but I hinted it had three camera lenses on the back-thought that might jog his memory. Instead, he called me a fool and abruptly ended the call. An Indian chap named Jason, running a scam? Absolutely typical. If this isn’t a scam, then Carphone Warehouse seriously needs to get their act together. Relying on call centres in India isn't going to earn you any kudos with your customers, especially when the majority of fraud seems to come from there!
