Mum received an almost identical message earlier, but it came across more like a phone call. The folks on the other end claimed there were 217 error messages related to her computer, and warned that if it hit 300, her device would pack in completely. She jokingly said, "I’ll let you know when it dies!" but really, we’re not reaching out for any specifics or number confirmation. Mum had no idea that these callers were purporting to be from something called the "Support Workshop." Quite the dodgy situation, if you ask me!

Just had another one of those dreaded calls - you know the type! A chap claimed to be from Microsoft Support, insisting that our computer was crawling with viruses. He promised that if we turned it on, he could walk us through fixing it. The bloke went by the name of Eric, but I reckon I've heard that name more times than I can count. This makes three calls I've received now, and it's getting a bit tiresome, to say the least!

We received the exact same message meant for our mum. Quite impressive, considering this doesn’t function with Microsoft software whatsoever!

I recently received a call from someone claiming to be from Microsoft, saying their name was Estella, and they warned me about a virus on my device. We noted down the number and tried to return the call, but no one picked up. Are we being overly paranoid here?

I received a call from someone using the name 'Gordon Bell' who spoke with quite a strong foreign accent. When I asked for their identity, they just kept insisting that they were employed by Microsoft. They then claimed to be based at the Blackburn office and offered a phone number-02081440285-to call back. I tried ringing it, but there was no response. It’s clear this is a scam.

Complete rip-off, I swear! We ended up with someone who barely spoke a word of English, trying to bamboozle us with all sorts of "tech speak." We asked for a callback number and their website details, but they were adamant they were from Microsoft support. The conversation took a nasty turn the moment we called them out on their bluff. To top it off, they bombarded us with calls shortly after, clearly just trying to annoy us! What a dreadful experience!

Just like countless others, I received a call today from a chap claiming to be from Microsoft support. He started off berating me about how our computer was apparently infested with viruses and insisted that once we powered it on, he could arrange for repairs. The gentleman had a foreign accent and introduced himself as Eric. This marks the third time I've been bothered by such a call.

I recently had a rather smooth phone call from someone claiming to be Jacob, who had what I can only describe as an accent that seemed either Indian or African. This person asserted that they were affiliated with Support Virtual working on behalf of Microsoft. They proceeded to inform me that my computer was evidently sending error messages to them, indicating some sort of software difficulties on my end. They insisted that I needed to turn on my computer so they could download something to fix it. I couldn't shake the feeling that this was a scam, pure and simple.

This number called our father-in-law, trying to fish for information about his computer. They claimed to be technicians who had been alerted to a virus issue and insisted on obtaining specific details to relay to their 'engineer' to assess the situation. The computer is equipped with antivirus software already. It was evident that they were attempting to breach the computer's security. It's quite alarming for those who aren't very tech-savvy.

Does anyone know who's been calling from 02081440285? It's been showing up on my phone quite a bit lately.

Whenever you receive a call from these individuals, just hang up! It's definitely a scam, although the specifics are a bit murky. They even tried to solicit payment details from our mother. Best wishes!

I received a rather smooth telephone call from someone identifying themselves as Jacob, whose accent seemed to have Indian or African roots. They claimed to represent a company called Support Virtual and were supposedly acting on behalf of Microsoft. This individual asserted that our computer was emitting error messages to their system and implied we had significant software issues. They requested that we power on our computer so they could remotely install something to 'fix' the problem. It’s clearly a scam, no question about it!

At 70 years young, I'm not exactly a whizz when it comes to technology! Once Sky had done their magic with our broadband, we hadn't even procured our laptop yet when a call came through from this number, claiming they could guide us through some issues. The peculiar part is that only Sky knew we were having an installation, yet there was no inkling about this phone call. Quite the mystery, isn't it?

Got the exact same message for our mum. Quite impressive really, considering he doesn’t use any Microsoft software whatsoever.

My mum received a nearly identical message as noted, although it appeared to provide a bit more detail in its approach. The individuals on the other end even went as far as to claim they had registered "217 error messages" on her computer, warning that upon reaching 300, her device would ultimately give up the ghost. Quite alarming, if you ask me! One can only imagine how that would affect her; she’d be left in the dark about when her laptop could potentially fail. Thankfully, we took the initiative to look up the number, which revealed that this was all a ruse. They pretended to be associated with something called the 'Support Workroom.' A classic scam, really!
