Its a total scam, they ask you to verify a pin they send by email and then they can get into your account and order new phones and stuff. Stay away from it!

This call come from somewhere closer to Lahore than London! And the TPS only covers a few types of legit calls really. It does not block most genuine calls and definitely doesn’t stop scammers. The TPS link mentioned here in that banner above will show you exactly what it covers (spoiler: it’s not much!). If you get scammed, you should text the number 7726 to report it. That’s what the police say on their Action Fraud phishing page.

Got a couple of calls today from numbers saying they're from London - this one and another one, 020 3978 6159. I'm on the TPS so they defo shouldn’t be calling me. Both calls lasted like 10 seconds tops, maybe it was a recorded message. Anyway, I've blocked both now.

Someone called saying they were from O2 about my SIM card, but I’m not even an O2 customer. Pretty sure it’s a scam. The number shows up as London, but whenever I get calls from that number the person speaking has a clear Indian accent. Seems like they’re actually ringing from somewhere in India or nearby. They keep ringing me repeatedly. Wish they’d just give it a rest. Of course, they won’t put me on any kind of no-call list.

These scammers are relentless, ringing, texting, and even sending bogus letters non-stop. Sadly, reporting and blocking them doesn’t really help since they just move on to other numbers. What’s actually worked for me is letting out a really loud whistle down the phone, and I’ve gotta say, it’s been surprisingly effective. Looks like they’ve finally given up on my number lol. Brilliant stuff 👌. Also, it’s a good idea to spread the word on social media, because websites alone aren’t stopping these scams. Make a post about it and encourage everyone to share it.

I got a call from a lady with a foreign accent claiming to be from Virgin Media. She asked if I'd switched over to the 02 network. Then she said my SIM would be disabled soon and I wouldn’t be able to use my phone for some time. She wanted me to give personal info so she could post a replacement SIM, which would apparently come with a charge!! I hung up before handing over anything.

Some dodgy folks called a vulnerable relative pretending to be O2, got a direct debit arranged, and ordered 4 phones that got delivered. If this happens to you, get in touch with O2 straight away so they can get their fraud team on it. And whatever you do, don’t ring the original number back - they’ll probably ask you to send the phones back to them, saying it was just a mix-up, but they’ll end up flogging them.

Some bloke rang, said he was from 02 and Virgin Media, claiming they’d joined together and I could save cash on my contract. I told him I hadn’t set the contract up and couldn’t give any details. Then he says I could log into my account using my gmail and that he was “watching me do it”. It sounded dodgy so I just ended the call.

Got a call about an hour and a half ago from someone who sounded Indian, with an Asian accent. They mentioned O2 but I was suspicious right away. I’m an O2 customer and have had problems with my phone before, so I know if they call, they always have a specific issue number you wouldn’t know. Plus, genuine calls usually come from an 0800 number. Just now, I got another call from 020 3978 6076 which I didn’t pick up. Looked that number up and it seems it’s the same sort of scam pretending to be O2. Hope this info helps someone!

I received a rather amusing call from someone claiming to be from O2's promotions team, offering a delightful 30% off for loyal customers. When I asked the chap to confirm my name-given that they supposedly had my details at their fingertips-he stumbled and couldn't provide it, explaining that he was strictly in promotions. I got a call from someone claiming to be with O2, offering a discount on my bill if I shared my details. As soon as I ended the call, the phone kept ringing with different voices on the other end. Definitely felt dodgy.

It seems they've raised the charges - I received a proposition of a 30% reduction on my O2 bill. When I insisted that I wouldn't divulge any personal information and asked them to update my O2 account so I could verify the details myself, the caller abruptly terminated the conversation. I suspected it was a fraudulent call right from the outset, but I reckon quite a few folks might be caught off-guard. They ought to be dealt with severely!
