I got a call from this number telling me I'd won £6500 for some accident. They said someone would come to my place in London on Monday at 10 am to hand it over. After reading up a bit, it seems a bit iffy. What's creepy is how they knew all my info in the first place. Very odd indeed. The number was 02081338878.

My husband got a call from this number earlier and we decided not to answer it. Later, there was a voicemail from someone called K J Copeland about PPI. We’re pretty sure it’s a scam, so we just deleted it straight away.

This number gave me loads of trouble too. It’s definitely a scam. They try the same trick with some fake compensation, claiming to be Steve McAllen or something, and then ask for iTunes gift cards as payment. Best thing is to just avoid these lot completely.

Hello all, I've been contacted by the number 02081338878! The individual goes by the name K.J. Capalnd and has provided an address at Thomas Market Building, 1st Floor, Royal Courts of Justice, postcode WC2A 2LL. He also mentioned a claim reference number: AST followed by three digits. Apparently, I’m due a PPI payout of £5,000. There's also a chap named Stive MacLallen involved, who has promised to deliver a cheque to my home. However, there’s a catch - I must purchase an iTunes gift card worth £250 prior to his visit! I do have the £250 gift card already, but if this is a scam, how did he manage to acquire all my information? Has anyone else encountered something similar? Any insights would be greatly appreciated. Cheers!

Hello everyone, I've just had a call from 02081338878, apparently from a person named K.J. Capalnd. They’ve provided an address in London at Thomas Market Building, 1st Floor, Royal Courts of Justice, postcode WC2A 2LL. I was also given a claim reference number: AST, along with three other digits. Apparently, I've got a potential PPI claim of £5,000! A chap by the name of Stive Maclallen is supposedly swinging by my place with a cheque. However, there's a catch-I've been told I need to purchase an iTunes gift card worth £250 before his arrival! They insist that I need to ring the same number, 02081338878, to confirm I’ve got the gift card ready. This seems very dodgy indeed, changing my potential £5,000 into a mere £250! I can’t help but wonder, if this is indeed a scam, how on earth do they have all my personal details? I’m curious if anyone else has had similar experiences or can shed light on this. Cheers!

I received a rather suspicious call from this number, claiming that I was due a payment for a PPI claim. The kicker? They insisted I had to buy a £250 iTunes voucher to cover some sort of 5% processing fee. Naturally, I didn't take the bait and chose not to return their call. Yet, they had the audacity to ring me up again, just to see if I had sorted out that payment. It’s truly bewildering! I've gone ahead and reported this to Action Fraud, as it's absolutely ludicrous to think iTunes cards can be used for anything other than purchasing Spotify tunes or apps from Apple. Total scam!

I received a call today from this number, and the person on the other end claimed I was entitled to some compensation related to an accident I had been involved in! They rattled off dates, names of people in the car with me, and pretty much all the details that I previously shared with a claims agency. For a moment, I thought it was a legitimate call and that funds were on the way. However, after doing a bit of digging online, I stumbled upon numerous others who had experienced the exact same thing! It left me questioning - how on earth did they acquire such specific information about my accident and me? It’s got me wondering whether some of these claim company employees might be behind these calls, as it seems rather implausible that anyone else could obtain all my personal details and the particulars of the incident.
