I told him no, wasn’t having any of it. Bit sneaky really, seemed like he somehow got into my account details. Strange thing was, my Coinbase account was still fully operational and I was trading on it. Then I got a call from 02081334348, a bloke calling himself Ben McFarlane claiming to be from Coinbase. What a scammer! He said the email was just an automated check, then started rambling about an upcoming Coinbase IPO and pushed me to sign up for it. He even dangled some crypto bonuses to sweeten the deal. Sadly, I ended up losing everything in my Coinbase account to this fraud. The incident has been reported to Coinbase who are now looking into it, but from what I gather, once money leaves your account it’s pretty much impossible to get it back.
