0208 133 5978 called me claiming to be from O2 with a 40% discount deal on my current plan. Only issue is, I don’t even have an O2 account! Total scam. I’ve blocked the number now.

They claimed to be from Nationwide and managed to trick my 89 year old neighbour, who’s just got over a stroke, into sending £6000. I rang them up to tell them what I thought and their reply was that if I really cared, I’d send her the cash myself. I’m about to report this to the cops. This number should be shut down immediately.

A young Asian lady called claiming she was from Currys trying to sell me a phone - I joked, "You mean Currys & PC World right?" She said yes. Then she asked what phone I had. I asked her what the market price for halibut was and we both went silent, then just said bye. Definitely a scam attempt.

I reckon this is a scam call cos it’s coming from London and I normally dont even answer calls like this. If you’re asking me, I suggest you check out YouTube channel called scammer payback, if you havent seen it yet. His vids really opened my eyes about phone scams and helped me understand how these crooks work better.

I got a call from a bloke with a really thick South Asian accent, saying it was about a Car Phone Warehouse mobile deal, ringing my main mobile (I’m with Tesco). Someone here mentioned Car Phone Warehouse doesn’t exist in the UK anymore, but it actually does, under Currys plc since 2014. Still, I’m not sure why Currys or Car Phone Warehouse would have overseas call centres cold calling UK people to push their plans. If they’re legit, they should realise a lot of us find it hard to understand international cold callers with such strong accents.
