02081333448 Summary (Read all comments)

Phone number ☎️ 02081333448 👆 is reported as a persistent scam involving callers impersonating officials from the London County Court or similar bodies, falsely claiming victims are due PPI refunds or compensation cheques. The fraudsters often demand payment upfront in the form of iTunes or Paysafe vouchers as a supposed commission or government fee before the cheque can be delivered. The callers tend to have foreign accents and use various names and phone numbers. Genuine courts or authorities would never request payment via vouchers nor send unsolicited cheques for PPI claims. Victims are urged to remain vigilant, avoid sharing voucher details, and verify claims independently through official channels. Reporting incidents to the police or Action Fraud is highly advised.

Hello, I live in Jersey and recently got a call from someone claiming my late wife and I had a PPI claim worth £3,100. The caller asked for £425 in iTunes gift cards upfront. After looking into it, I realised it was a total scam. What really bothers me is they used my late wife’s info trying to get money from me, which is awful since she passed away from cancer. Just a heads-up, the number they called from was 02032868676. Stay safe out there. Thanks, Jersey.

Honestly, the best way to deal with these con artists is to just mess around with them on the phone. I like to repeat everything they say but get their name wrong constantly, or randomly ask who’s covering the VAT. One trick I’ve tried, which seems to work surprisingly well, is saying I have Tourette’s so when I swear a lot it sounds more believable and they tend to stick around longer. Just had a call that lasted nearly an hour. I totally messed with him, made him tell me what tube line he takes to work when he clearly didn’t know, threw in phrases from random cult films, especially the crazier ones about drugs. Told him his story was a load of rubbish and even tried to convince him Apple and Microsoft are actually the same company? In the end I hope I stopped at least one person from falling for his nonsense. Each minute I wasted of his time was a minute he couldn’t scam someone else, so feel like it was worth it.

I got a phone call from 02081445561, some bloke called John Lr claiming to be from the London county court dispatch team. He said a cheque for £4300 would be dropped off today by a guy named Eric Wilson, but only if I bought iTunes vouchers worth £215 to cover some government fee. When I asked him to send me the official document, he said he could email it but wouldn’t post it out. He also gave me a case reference number TGR02 to use when I called back on that same number. Sounds dodgy to me!

This number keeps ringing me up asking about loan details, like the address and how much was borrowed. Then they said they have a cheque for £5000 but need me to buy an iTunes voucher before they can hand it over. Surely there’s a way to find out how many people they’re scamming, especially those who might be more vulnerable?

I just got a call from a bloke with an Asian accent claiming to be from the London County Court. He told me there was a cheque for £6700 that I’d apparently claimed back in 2011. Honestly, don’t be fooled by this nonsense. It’s clearly a scam trying to get you to buy something. No court would ever ask you to pay for anything upfront before giving you some fake cheque.

Got a ring from this number and the story was pretty much the same. They said I owed £4,300 in PPI but first I needed to buy iTunes gift cards to get it sorted. Smelled like a total con to me, so I told them to post me all the details instead. Haven’t had a peep since.

020 8123 0501 London, England I got a call from this number and they pretty much said the same stuff as others mentioned, but never brought up any voucher or money offers. Just a heads up, be cautious - they often try to trick you with promises of cash. If it sounds too good to be true, it almost certainly is. If you think you have a PPI claim, don’t rely on callers like these. Contact a firm you know is legit yourself. Also, the idea of a “county court dispatch team” is a total myth, don’t fall for it. There’s loads of scams going around atm, so unless you ring the company yourself, stay alert. Don’t let these crooks take your cash - keep safe!

So I just got a call from a bloke with a pretty obvious Asian accent, which was kinda strange because he called himself Mark Hirst. Like a lot of others, he tried pulling that iTunes voucher scam, asking for £225 in vouchers to release some PPI cheque supposedly worth £3100. Makes me wonder how many folks fall for this rubbish and if the cops are even doing anything about it. The number he called from was blocked, but he told me to ring this 02036085792 number to prove I had the vouchers ready. And apparently, the person who’d deliver the cheque was some Simon Turner. Total scam, obviously.

I got a call from 02081230501 and the bloke said his name was John. He said he was ringing me on behalf of Central London County Court, saying they were sending a cheque to my place. He mentioned some delivery guy, Mr Eric Wilson, who was supposed to bring it over. Then he asked me to buy Apple gift cards worth £210. I had a gut feeling it was dodgy, so I told him I wouldn’t be buying any vouchers unless the cheque actually arrived and cleared first.

Some bloke with an Asian accent rang me claiming he was from the London County Court. He said there was a cheque waiting for me worth £4002 as some kind of settlement. Then he insisted I get Apple vouchers from Tesco worth £210 first. He promised the cheque would arrive on Tuesday but wanted me to buy the cards beforehand. Something felt off, so I told him to send the cheque over and once it’s cleared in my bank, I’d be fine with paying the 5% fee. Didn’t fancy getting caught out by a scam.

Today my partner got a call just like this... he decided to respond by spelling out the code but using loads of curse words instead. Then he gave the bloke a proper earful about trying to scam folks! The guy on the other end started calling him crazy, but my partner just kept giving him hell.

I got a call from a man with an Asian accent, saying he was calling from the City County Court of London. He told me that a cheque for mis-sold PPI worth £2850 would be sent, which is odd since the original loan I took out was much less. He left his phone number too - 02080770357. I’ve reported it to Action Fraud on 03001232040 so they can look into it properly. Honestly, the more folks who flag these dodgy calls, the easier it is for the police to track down these scammers.

So this bloke said the court shut at noon, yet he called me at 3.18pm on 22.10.2016, saying he'd ring back Monday after 10am. Claimed he’s from the Central London Court Despatch team, based at 137 Finchley Rd NW3 6JG. Sounds dodgy to me, since I don’t remember boarding the same dodgy boat as him. I’m expecting it’s a scam call but won’t get my hopes up, really. The PPI Claim Line apparently works out of that address too, so I very much doubt they’ve got anything to do with any court. And honestly, when did a court ever have a “despatch team”? Suspicious as heck!

Got the same scam call this morning round 11.40am. Some bloke with a foreign accent, maybe African, was really hard to understand. He claimed he was ringing from the City County Court, saying I was set to get a cheque for £2,850. He even knew I had a loan with Capital One and knew where I lived. Then he mentioned some busy delivery guy called Simon Turner who would supposedly come by my place tomorrow with the cheque. He told me to give him paysafe voucher codes worth £225. Silly me, I headed to W.H Smith only to find out I could buy a maximum of £125 in paysafe vouchers. Thankfully my sister warned me, so I checked online and realised it was a scam. I’ll be reporting this to Action Fraud tomorrow.

He claimed he was calling from the London County Court and said a bloke called Simon Turner would show up at mine around 6pm with a cheque for £3,100, something to do with a PPI claim on my Halifax loan. Mark told me Simon would bring paperwork that I’d need to sign. So, I had several calls today claiming to be from the London County Court’s dispatch team. The guy, who said his name was Gareth and sounded Asian, told me that I’d been underpaid on a recent personal injury claim and was owed an extra £4200. Of course, the usual nonsense followed - he wanted me to buy Paysafe vouchers, claiming a courier would bring my cheque later today, before 7pm, once I handed over the vouchers. Just yesterday I got a call from a man with an Asian accent named Simon, telling me he had a cheque for £2900 from the "City County Court of London" about mis-sold PPI. He said all I needed to do was buy £290 worth of paysafecard vouchers (which was their 10% fee) and give them to their agent when he came to my house at a set time. I decided to play along to see what would happen and made an appointment for them to come over with the cheque. When the time arrived, I switched off all the lights and watched from the window. Sure enough, a man was outside calling me repeatedly on my landline and telling me to ring 02081333448 immediately because they were here with my cheque.
