Got a call from a bloke with an Indian accent asking to speak to the business owner. I told him it was a private number. Then he tried to chat me up about lowering my phone line rental. I said I was happy with my current phone and TV bundle, and he started guessing what I pay monthly. I told him he was miles off and didn't want to share the exact amount. Surprisingly, he was quite polite, thanked me and hung up - bit of a change from the usual! Honestly, I'm fed up to the teeth with these calls. We're ex-directory and never share our landline number, so how the heck do they get hold of it?

Whenever I get a random call at the office, I make sure to report it to the TPS (Telephone Preference Service - you’ve got to register your number online first). It’s a bit of a pain, but after a while, the nuisance calls drop off loads. For every new number that rings, I’ll dial 1471 to see who it was, look them up on Google, then lodge a complaint on the TPS site. It’s annoying having to spend time sorting out these annoying w****rs, but it’s better than just ignoring them.

She asked why, so I asked what the call was about. She said it was about our phone line, so I told her to take our number off her list immediately. She was quite polite and said “Alright then.” We’ll see if she actually does it.

She asked why, so I probed what the call was regarding. She said it was something about “your phone line.” I told her firmly to take our number off her list. Got a call from someone with an Asian accent asking for the business owner. I just told him to buzz off and used my CPR V5000 call blocker to block the number. No chance of them ringing me again now. Got a call from a guy with an Indian accent wanting to speak to whoever runs the driving school here. When I said we don’t have a driving school, he asked if we used this number for any kind of business. I said no, and then he just hung up. The weird part is he was calling from a London number but this one’s from Birmingham. Bit strange, really.
