I told her no thanks and asked her to take my number off their list, but she refused and said she’d keep ringing because it’s her job. She even called me arrogant just because I didn’t want to chat with them! I’ve blocked the number now, but I’m sure I’ll get calls from another similar number with the same scam soon enough.

Got a call from an Indian guy who just wouldn’t back off no matter how much I said no. I asked him to take my number off his list and then ended the call, only for him to ring back and do the exact same thing for the next half hour. Got a call from an Indian man saying he was sorting a meter swap and refund for overpayment. Was expecting a new meter soon, so I figured it was legit at first. Then he started saying they'd switch my energy supplier even though I'm still tied to a contract. When I questioned it, he got pretty rude. Ended up just hanging up. They've phoned me eight times in as many days, so looks like they’re not giving up any time soon!

Somebody called pretending to be from the National Grid, had all my info like they’d checked Companies House or something. It was an Indian call centre saying my electric meter needed swapping and to book a time. They said my power would cut out for about 45 mins during the switch. I ended the call, but they rang again, really pushy. In the end I got in touch with National Grid and they told me it’s definitely a scam.

She kept insisting she wasn’t with our provider but from National Grid head office, whatever that means, saying they’re separate. So what, you want to install a second meter or something? No thanks! Ended the call, she rang back straight away, and I just ignored it and hung up again. Definitely dodgy, stay clear.

I received a call about switching our meter over to a smart one, and they requested the company name, my full name, and date of birth - that raised a red flag for me! When I inquired for their contact number, they dazzlingly provided me with the National Grid's number - quite the trick! When I mentioned I'd reach out to them later using the number from 1471, guess what? That same number popped up. Stay vigilant, folks - steer clear of sharing any personal details!

When we said no, the caller said, “It’s not about your happiness.” They promised to email instead but then started hassling both our business and home managers. Our manager hung up, but they called straight back asking why and kept pressing for details about the house. This number definitely seemed dodgy and probably a scam.

Some bloke with a strong accent called himself Allan Kumar from National Grid. He said he had to book us in to swap our electric meter cos it’d been showing more kw than usual these past months. I thought it sounded dodgy and just ended the call. Then he phoned again and got a bit angry that I didn’t trust him. I hung up on him once more and he tried ringing back again. I finally shut him down by saying my manager would get in touch with him.

I’m already dealing with Eon, so I asked if he could confirm his details, but he wasn’t able to. He rang me up four more times from the 0808 number - that’s definitely an Eon number, but I’ve never come across this guy before!

He then said the internet connection was poor so he needed a manual reading. I didn’t give him any info and he then asked if I had a recent bill. I said no and hung up. He called back a couple of times but I didn’t pick up. Not convinced he was really from British Gas, but what freaked me out a bit was he knew my address.
