They asked for my phone number and address, but when I questioned why I hadn’t received any formal letter, he said they don’t send anything in writing and that I’d be hearing from the tax fraud police soon. I told him I had proof I never claimed any tax refund, then they just hung up on me. It’s worrying how easy it is for scammers to get details like your name and work periods if you’re self-employed. Honestly, there should be some organisation to stop these kinds of calls. From now on, I’m definitely googling any unknown numbers before picking up.
