SCAM ALERT Got a call at my hotel job from this number trying to push a loan on me. Honestly, just ignore it, it’s a waste of time.

Got a call supposedly from BT about internet security, but it was really from Sky. Total scam, they managed to take money straight from my dad’s bank. Proper dodgy!

I work at Direct-Energy Associates Ltd, but these scammers keep ringing people and pretending it's us. It's not our company at all, they’re just using our name. I’ve already told the UIA[###], which is our trade group, along with the suppliers about it. Now I’m trying to find out how to track them down and put an end to this nonsense.

Received a barrage of calls, six in total, every couple of minutes, starting around twenty to seven on Friday night. I’ll admit, I’m quite diligent in my work, yet the person on the other end seemed rather irate that I wasn't picking up. Quite an unusual situation, if you ask me!

This person rang up saying I was due a refund from the bank, saying I needed to verify some other personal info first. Sounds dodgy to me. I just hung up and blocked the number straight away.

This number seems to ring my establishment weekly without fail, and every conversation escalates into a heated dispute, prompting me to hang up. Despite my efforts to cut it off, they persistently bombard me with several follow-up calls. I’d say after three attempts to get through, it crosses the line into harassment territory, doesn’t it?

They kept calling me over and over and even started insulting me just because I didn’t want to switch my gas and electric deal with them. It was really annoying!

For sure it's scammers, I've noticed they often call like three times back to back. They also use different numbers starting with 020379, so watch out. If you try to call them back, they just hang up and then someone else rings you again. Honestly, there's no real way to block them completely.

We keep getting calls from some energy company right when we're super busy. It's really annoying because they never ring at a good time. Can't they pick a better moment to call?

I got a call from this number, and the bloke sounded like he was from overseas. He said I'd been charged too much by my energy company and claimed he had the details from the 'National Grid'. He wanted to chat to the business owner, but I didn’t admit it was me. While he was on the line, I searched the number online. I told him his number didn’t seem to match the energy firm he was claiming to represent, and I also mentioned seeing loads of complaints about annoying calls from that number. Then he just hung up.

I keep receiving calls from someone claiming to be from the UK Energy Council, insisting that I'm being billed too much. It’s obviously a scam; whenever I start to ask them any sensible questions, they promptly cut the line. They seem to ring me every week without fail-it's becoming quite irritating!

Bloody hell, if these idiots don’t piss off and quit calling me all the bloody time, I swear I’m gonna lose it! They ring me every damn day without fail. It’s proper annoying, can’t get a moment’s peace. They just don’t quit.

They keep ringing one of our phones non stop, it’s so annoying we just end up not answering. BT doesn’t seem to do much to stop these calls either. The callers are really aggressive and their stories make no sense at all. Feels like a complete con.

Called and asked for the person in charge. When I said they weren't available, the bloke started swearing at me. He was a guy from Pakistan and when I pushed back, he just hung up. Quite cowardly really.

0208 13312395 What a nightmare! The bloke wanted to chat with the 'business owner' about some supposed overcharge on our electricity bill. Didn’t say a word about me actually being the owner. When I told him to ring back in January, he just told me to **** off. Lovely.

STAY CLEAR of Direct Energy! They keep claiming my supplier is messing with my usage figures - total rubbish. Don’t believe a word, it's all complete nonsense. I’ve recorded the call and already reported it to OFGEM, the ICO and my energy company. Absolutely disgraceful!

It's quite evident that they're not on the level; it feels like a blatant attempt to pull the wool over your eyes! They presented me with some appealing electricity rates, which I was inclined to accept, but when it came to revealing their company name and other vital details, they went suspiciously quiet. I’d strongly recommend steering clear of them!

Got a call from a guy called Malik claiming to be from National Grid. He said he’d got info from my energy company that I’m paying too much for electricity. He tried to get me to spill who my supplier was and how much I was paying every month. I told him a fake company name and said I’m shelling out thousands monthly via direct debit and I couldn’t care less about the cost. After that, Malik said there was nothing he could do. That’s when I told him to take me off their list and to stop calling me ever again.

I've had a similar ordeal myself. Some chap named "Ali Hussain" trying to convince me to switch my energy provider during a phone call. He initially claimed to represent the UK Energy Council, then the following day rang again, saying he was with Direct Energy Board. The callback number he provided was 0208 133 1295. He touted some rates that seemed unbelievable, claiming they were from Opus Energy. It's quite clear that if an offer appears to be too fantastic, it probably is!

I've been inundated with calls from individuals named Malik or Mahek. They seem to pass the phone around, representing companies like Opus Energy, Eon Energy, or whatever energy supplier they fancy. They assert they are working in collaboration with the UK government to help us save some cash. But let's be honest, they’re after your personal information-things like your date of birth, bank details, account number, and your address. Every single time they ring, the script is almost identical: “You're overpaying for gas and electric. We can secure you substantial savings. We can reclaim your funds from your current provider. May I take your full name, complete address, and date of birth?” They promise you a dedicated account manager, either Mehak or Malik, and provide a direct number: 0208 133 1295. They claim to be affiliated with the UK Government Regulator, working in something they refer to as the objection handling department. To qualify for a supposedly fantastic 7.5% discount on both gas and electricity, they insist they need your entire bank details for verification purposes. They pitch a quarterly bill that ranges from £170 to £340 for both utilities-a deal they say is guaranteed forever. Documents will be sent your way, and only upon your signature will they proceed with everything. At this stage, you'd have effectively handed over your life details, often without fully understanding the implications. Soon after, brace yourself for a prohibitively large bill filled with hidden charges, locked in for what feels like an eternity. It’s evident they’ve acquired your number from somewhere and are relentless in their sales pitch. My advice? Stay composed, don’t divulge any personal information, and decline their offers gracefully. Hopefully, this bit of insight will assist someone out there! :)

Got a call from Direct Energy Services, trying to get me to change my provider. I told them I’m already on the cheapest tariff from a firm Which? recommended. When I asked if the deals they offered were on Which?’s list, the caller quickly said yes. But when I checked, none of those companies appeared on Which?’s best or worst energy supplier lists. Feels like a total scam to me!

Some bloke from the national energy council called me, claiming I was overcharged by 1300 units and kept asking who my supplier was. I told him, if they're official, they should already have my details! He was really persistent and spoke so fast it was hard to catch what he was saying. I asked for his number and said I'd ring them back if necessary. Seems like just another scam to me.

I received a call from a chap purporting to represent the UK Energy Council, who introduced himself as Malik Hanza. He claimed that I had been overcharged for a staggering 13,000 units of electricity by my current supplier. Subsequently, another caller, who claimed to be from Scottish Power, stated they were affiliated with the UK Energy Council and wanted to switch me over to their service. Honestly, I found Malik’s pitch to be utterly suspicious. It reeked of a scam right from the start, so I told him straight that he was nothing but a fraudster and promptly ended the call. One has to wonder how these idiots manage to rest at night...

This Mehak person from Direct Energy called me non-stop, must have been like 10 calls in just 10 minutes. I listened for a bit and they just wouldn’t stop pestering me. She said they could knock off more than £300 a month from my electricity charges and even refund what I’d overpaid before right back into my bank. No matter what, they kept ringing and wouldn't take no for an answer.
