4 yearsGot a call around 9am this Wednesday from someone claiming I had a contract with them for my gas boiler service. Thing is, I always get mine done by British Gas, so it wasn’t me. When I told them there was no such contract, the tone quickly turned pushy, saying I’d have to pay to get my name off. I could hear kids playing in the background, so seemed like they were calling from a house or something. The person kept insisting I’d used their boiler service last year, which just isn’t true at all.British Gas4 yearsThis bloke claimed to be from Cover Appliance and insisted I had to renew for the third year. I knew straight away that something was fishy, especially when he started rattling off what he said were my bank details. Definitely a scam.4 yearsmy mum rang me earlier all stressed out because a person from this number was on the phone, claiming she had insurance for her appliances with them. they were pushing for a ridiculously high fee to renew it. she used to have policies like that but we ended up cancelling everything ages ago, partly so she'd be aware not to pay anyone calling about these kinds of deals. it's crazy how these scam calls still keep happening and there's nothing you can do to block them!4 yearsSo I let this call go to voicemail this time, but before they kept ringing about appliance insurance. They just refused to accept when I said I wasn't with them and even threatened to pull money from my account the very next day. It’s like they think we older folk can’t see through their tricks.4 yearsThese appliance insurance folks are relentless! They've been calling nonstop, threatening to debit my account, even after I've made it clear I never signed up with them. Honestly, they must reckon older people are easy marks or something.5 yearsIt was definitely a scam, they were pretending to be from some insurance company. Total rip-off.5 yearsI keep getting these persistent nuisance calls claiming I’ve taken out insurance for my white goods. I assure you, I haven’t done any such thing!5 yearsLike quite a few folks here, I’ve been getting calls from some so-called ‘appliance cover’ lot. Typical dodgy company name, nothing special. It’s just part of this mass of lowlifes swapping around stolen personal and bank info of elderly or vulnerable people, then ringing them up pretending there’s some urgent renewal on a policy that doesn’t even exist (and that I haven’t come across since managing my mum’s money). These days, I just ask them straight off for their FCA registration number - it usually flusters them and is quite amusing to watch.5 yearsGot a call from this number today, they claimed it was about my appliance and said I had some kind of policy with them. They started offering a renewal deal, but I made it clear I don’t have anything with them. Like others mentioned, the person was really persistent and wouldn't just accept my refusal. Ended up hanging up and blocked the number, though I’m sure they’ll ring from another number soon enough.5 yearsThey claimed to be from some appliance cover place, which caught my attention as I often deal with my mother-in-law’s calls. They insisted she had to renew a contract or something similar. I asked them to send me the original contract to check, but they flat out refused. I told them no way am I giving any details before I see proof. They were really pushy and quite rude, plus they even had the wrong postcode. Wouldn't trust them at all. Watch out for these lot!5 yearsMy elderly mum got a call again from someone saying they were from an appliance insurance company. This is the second time we’ve had to deal with this nonsense. Honestly, these lot should be dealt with properly.5 yearsGot a call claiming to be from some appliance insurance place. They were really dodgy, not giving much info and pushing hard to get me to pay for a policy. Kept saying I already had one with them, which I didn’t. Honestly, just hang up and don’t listen to any of it.5 yearsGot a call from a number I didn’t recognise, no message was left. Blocked it straight away.Submit Your Own Report (020 8124 3515)
