Imposters at work! Beware of scams and avoid sending any funds. There’s no loan on offer and definitely no refunds for bank charges. Make sure to report any dubious emails to the authorities through Action Fraud-just do a quick search for their info. Stay safe!

I’m involved with a legitimate loan brokerage here in the UK and we've come across these scammers several times. The number they use is a Skype one, and the calls seem to be routed from a call centre in Pakistan, which the UK police are currently investigating. This group has been caught pretending to be various UK loan firms and tricking people into handing over money through deception. They work with "money mules" based in the UK - basically people who let their bank accounts be used to receive these fraudulent payments, then keep a cut. Whenever we spot such accounts, we alert the authorities because this is considered money laundering, which could see them jailed for up to 14 years. A couple of things to keep in mind: 1. Don’t ever pay anything upfront for a loan; if your credit’s poor, you likely won’t get one. 2. Be careful about sharing personal info on the phone unless you’re absolutely certain who you’re speaking with.
