Got a call from this number at about 10:35 in the morning on 13/06/2024. The person on the line was a man speaking with a thick Asian accent claiming he was with Virgin Media. I didn’t buy it and just hung up. Just yesterday I got a couple of calls from 01252 3333815 and also 077986 745021, both asking me to test my broadband speed. Feels like it could be the same dodgy outfit in India ringing from different numbers?

Got a really pushy person on the phone claiming to be from my energy supplier, saying they want to fit a smart meter at my place. No idea how they even got my address. I told them I wasn't interested, then a different caller rang me a few hours later and just hung up. Definitely some sort of energy scam, so I just blocked the number.

I received an incredibly persistent call from a company claiming they could slash our energy bills. Naturally, I turned them down, but they kept probing, asking how I was so certain we were being overcharged. I repeated my decision to end the conversation, emphasising my satisfaction with our existing arrangement, which still has more than two years left on the contract! Following that, I was bombarded with about a dozen calls - each one ringing only to hang up once I answered. It's quite clear this is nothing more than a dodgy scam.

They woke me up and by the time I reached the phone, they’d already hung up. Tried 1471 and looked into it. Definitely a scam, but also really frustrating and quite unsafe. Not just ’cause of the fraud risk, but as someone elderly, rushing to answer the phone, especially right after waking, could easily cause me to trip or fall (and I was still in bed!). Why can’t these calls be blocked before they even ring?

Picked up the phone and after a pause, some woman with an accent claimed she was from Microsoft and mentioned something about our computer. Received a call earlier today from someone inquiring about the business owner. When I probed for further details, he claimed to be representing an energy company. I pressed him for specifics, and after a noticeable hesitation, he mentioned EDF Energy. I pointed out his delay-that raised my suspicions as I’m well aware he isn’t affiliated with EDF. Politely, I declined his offer, only to have him ring back accusing me of lying. What a charming individual! He surely deserves a shout-out for his marvellous communication skills-perhaps even a swift promotion awaits him. Clearly a scam. He’s definitely not with EDF. It’s best to steer clear of returning calls to these numbers, as it could rack up charges on your bill.

Rang me at around six this evening, wanting to chat with the owner of the establishment. When I inquired if the caller had a specific name, he replied that he did not - just that he needed to speak to the owner. I told him, "I'm afraid I'll need a name before I can connect you." He snapped back, "You must know who I'm after, so quit being a prat and patch me through!" I couldn't resist firing back a string of choice words before he abruptly hung up.
