Got a call from this number earlier and it really freaked me out. I kept ringing them back but as soon as I answered, they just hung up. I decided to check with the Tax Office using the number on my paperwork. I played the scary voicemail for them and they said two things: one, they never leave messages like that, and two, if there was an issue they’d send a letter or a text. So just be careful with this one.

I dialled the number again from my home phone and a guy with a Pakistani accent picked up, claiming to be from the Inland Revenue. Thanks everyone for the heads up. I got one of those annoying voice mails too, saying they were from HMRC. When I called back, someone did answer, pretending to be HMRC again. I just hung up and checked this site straight away. Watch out folks, I’ve fallen for scams like this before. I really despise these con artists - they’re like vermin, leeches feeding off honest people. I bust my gut to earn my cash, and it’s disgusting to see this happen.

A few days back, I got a call from this number pretending to be from HMRC. Since Tuesday, I've been trying to reach them on 020 8123 3542 but kept getting nothing. Just earlier, an Asian-accented man answered briefly, but when I started asking questions to confirm if it was really HMRC, he just hung up on me. I’ve redialled several times since then but no luck. Folks really need to watch out as this seems like a proper scam.

I had a really unpleasant experience with this one. I rang back on my home phone and asked them to confirm who they were. I refused to give them my mobile number, then they started going on about the police coming round, as if I was about to be nicked! Then the call just cut off. I tried calling again, said the same thing, and once more the line dropped!! Even though there’s no real reason to believe they were legit, it’s alarming when scammers pretend to be from official agencies like that. They claimed it was a fraud investigation - how ridiculous!
