So, I got a call from someone claiming to be the London Mint Office around 6 in the evening, which was strange because their website states they shut up shop at 5:30 pm. I’d actually rung them the day before using a different phone number. It just felt a bit off to me.

It was the London Mint Office about some collectible coins. I got a missed call and a voicemail regarding a call I’d made the night before about a coin I’d ordered but then decided to cancel. Normally, I avoid answering 020 numbers, but luckily they left a message identifying themselves. For once, a 020 number actually helped me out. I needed to cancel the coin order before it was sent, which saved me the trouble of returning it later. I’d completely blanked on it since they close over the weekend, so without that message, I’d have missed my chance. Quite lucky really!
