I've been getting tons of calls claiming to be from the Coop Bank but it's definitely a scam. What you can do is dial 159, say your bank’s name, and they’ll connect you to your bank’s fraud department. They’ll check if it was actually your bank trying to get in touch.

As a customer of the Coop, I recently transferred funds and received two calls-one from a landline and another from a mobile, both delivering a recorded message. I'm inclined to suspect that it could indeed be the Coop, although I haven’t verified it just yet. To be honest, I find it quite daft on their part, as I can’t trace this number to the Coop bank in any official capacity. While we all know it's wise to be sceptical about what a caller ID claims, there really ought to be a more reliable method for us to return calls to the bank on a trustworthy number.
