Sounds like an automatic system or computer is dialling a bunch of numbers but hangs up after about 15 seconds to stop it from hitting voicemail and costing them extra. No joke, thats the deal. I’ve been gettin loads of these calls for more than a year now, all from 020 numbers with just different last 6 digits. They all seem linked tho, the caller ID shows up as ~rdisp4. Total scammers, I just block every 020 number that rings me. If it was really important, they’d leave a voicemail but so far, nothing.

Really dodgy scam, claiming to be from HMRC. They ring me loads from all sorts of numbers, I’ve blocked every single one. It’s risky, especially for older folks or anyone who might not spot the trick. Honestly, if HMRC wanted to get in touch, they’d send a letter. I’ve worked with HMRC before, so I know this for certain.
