It appears someone has been attempting to pass themselves off as one of my colleagues. Earlier today, a client reached out seeking verification that I was employed at xxx and whether I held FCA registration. He went on to request that I speak with him directly. Apparently, this individual claimed to have chatted with me earlier today regarding assistance in retrieving some funds he lost through online trading with UFX a couple of years back. He asserted that the person he dealt with was “my name” and was indeed FCA registered. To further this, he received a WhatsApp message containing my FCA number 'xxxxxxxx' along with a link to the register as proof of that registration. Additionally, he was provided with another number to call, which is ‘02080979948’.

I received a dodgy phone call from someone claiming that my identity had been compromised. They insisted I needed to install some software on my mobile device. Quite concerning, really!
