02080942585 Summary (Read all comments)

Phone number ☎️ 02080942585 👆 is reported as a persistent source of scam and spam calls targeting UK residents. Callers often impersonate well-known companies like Tesco Mobile, O2, Sky, HMRC, and others, attempting to extract personal or financial information through fake offers, security alerts, or bogus competitions. Many users report aggressive or silent calls, prerecorded messages, and rapid hang-ups when questioned. Attempts include identity fraud, fake contract offers, and requests for verification codes or payment details. Blocking the number provides limited relief, as callers frequently use spoofed or changing numbers. Users are advised not to engage, avoid sharing information, and report incidents to official fraud authorities. Collective action involving reporting to MPs and authorities is encouraged to combat this widespread, multi-billion-pound criminal activity.

Got a call from someone pretending to be O2, saying I could get a discount on my phone plan. They said they’d send me a text with a 6 digit code and asked me to share it with them. Total con. O2 actually sends you a couple of texts warning you never to give that code to anyone. These scammers try to reset your account and use that code to prove they are you, then change your delivery address and order stuff using your name.

020 3239 7569 Nearly took £373 from my account after someone got my partner’s details from a site we’ve used loads of times. Seems like the site’s been hacked and then the caller actually rang us to try and confirm the payment. Luckily my bank blocked it cus I didn’t have enough funds anyway. But my bank now says the only way to fix this is to go into the branch, which is shut, and not all online payments send a notification for me to approve. Had a bloke on the line with a thick accent calling himself Alex, mentioned a company that sounded like some phone provider - maybe Phones For Everyone or something similar. He was banging on about some special deal on a new mobile phone, all sorts of bells and whistles. The connection was rubbish, like he wasn’t on a normal landline or maybe just wasn’t in a proper call centre. Seemed really sketchy, so I just said no thanks nicely.

Nobody said a word. Pretty sure it was a scam.

When I picked up, some automated voice said they heard I’d been in a car crash, is that for real? I just sighed and then they hung up on me 🙄

Totally a scam, I picked up and the bloke on the line was just rambling rubbish. Said his name was Leo Philip or something like that. Watch out for this one!

SCAM ALERT! Make sure you report every scam attempt straight to the police fraud database. Just search for ‘action fraud’ and head to the ‘police.uk’ website. Find the ‘report a phishing attempt’ section and carefully read all the info provided. Then fill in the scam report form with as much detail as you can, including any links or website addresses you’ve got. You don’t have to sign up or give personal info unless you’ve actually lost money to the fraud. The only way for the police to track these attempts at scamming us is if we report them all.

A bloke with an Indian accent rang me, saying he's 'William Smith' and wanted to chat about my life insurance. Claimed he was connected to my provider and others, but he just went on and on without letting me say a thing. When I finally managed to say I wasn’t interested, he just carried right on with his sales pitch. I used the chance to google the number and read out what I found to him. Bit of a laugh at the end, but definitely felt like a dodgy call.

This bloke called saying he was from some review panel and wanted to chat about my life insurance. He said he was from the company I actually use, but I double-checked the number and it wasn’t linked to them at all. Definitely fishy.

This company is a total scam, using the mobile number 07493100242. They kept telling me my dad’s advertising bill needed paying but it’s so clear it’s a con. Things got worse when they started hassling me and threatening to send debt collectors. Definitely a fraud.

Got a call from 020 4525 8156 saying I’d signed up myself for some contest to win £500 (which I never did). When I told them I hadn’t, they just cut me off straight away. Totally feels like a scam.

Some bloke called himself Jerry from Currys PC World, said it was about my warranty or summat. But I’ve never even been to Currys. Told him he’d got the wrong number, and he just got all mad, saying I owed them cash. Best just ignore and hang up quick.
