I ended up chatting online, which turned into a phone call with a man who took over my computer remotely. He claimed to have fixed things and set up Norton Antivirus with a five-year subscription - which now seems to only be for one year and cost a lot more than I expected. A couple of days ago, the same bloke rang from this number saying he needed to update my PC again and wanted remote access. I told him now wasn't a good moment and asked him to call later in the week. Meanwhile, I got in touch with Canon directly and it turns out it was all a con. So, I’ve blocked this number since.Canon3 yearsI was trying to get some assistance with my printer, so I put my number down on a site that looked like Canon’s official page. Shortly after, a person called me up saying they could sort out the setup remotely if I let them access my computer. Both my bank and the folks at PC World warned me straight away that it’s a clever scam. All the emails they send bounce back too. Just a heads up to everyone to watch out! The guy rang again the other day and when I mentioned my bank’s warning, he just ended the call straight away. When I tried to ring them back, he hung up on me twice.
