Their thick foreign accents were quite noticeable. It felt rather dodgy, to be honest! Quite a risk, if you ask me!4 yearsI got a call from a woman who spoke Urdu and Hindi really nicely, sounded polite enough. But turns out she’s a major scammer. She claimed to be from some net pay merchant company, but when I checked, the email and phone number she gave didn't match the official ones on their website. Seems like she’s using fake contact info to trick people.4 yearsHad this woman call me with a really thick Indian accent, going on about fixing up my supposed rental flat. Tried stopping her, but she just kept chatting away non stop. Told her I don’t own any rental properties and to please take my number off their list. No luck though, she rang me again just a couple of hours later!!4 yearsThis number claimed to be from the energy department, but when I asked for more info, the caller just told me to f**k off and then cut me off. I said he wasn’t here, then she wanted another Trustee’s name, but he wasn’t around either. I asked who she was and what this was about, and she said she had some contract with a Trustee since 2021 for broadband and phone lines. I told her our charity doesn’t work from a particular office. She kept pestering me about when she could speak to another Trustee, which really got on my nerves, so I told her never to call again!4 yearsGot a call from someone saying they were from my energy company wanting to renew my gas and electricity contract, but it was so clearly a scam.4 yearsGot a call from someone trying to peddle cash machines, but I just cut them off right when they began their sales spiel.4 yearsSomeone rang me up trying to push card machines, definitely felt like a scam.
