I received a rather sinister voicemail on my phone yesterday morning. The caller claimed that I was implicated in a grave legal matter and warned that failing to return their call would lead to dire repercussions, insinuating that my safety could be at risk. Quite frankly, I was appalled at the audacity of such threats. Just imagine if this had been someone vulnerable or elderly; they might have panicked and felt compelled to call back, believing it to be a serious issue. My gut feeling was that this was nothing more than a SCAM, and I had no intention of playing along with their demands. To top it off, they had the nerve to conclude with "have a blessed day." It’s astonishing how they dare to label themselves as Christians in such a context.

I got a call today from someone claiming I owed money and needed a solicitor because there was a warrant out for my arrest. It got me pretty stressed as the caller said if I didn’t pay, I’d lose my bank card and passport for seven years and could even go to jail. Later, I looked up the numbers he gave: 02080894121 and 02821788333 ext 191, and found out it’s a scam. He said his name was John Parker and told me to ring back on Monday with half the money. After a bit, I contacted the police and they told me to ignore it because it’s just a scam.

Got a call at 3.25pm on my mobile from someone claiming to be HMRC investigations. I called back on our landline and some bloke with a foreign accent answered, saying he was from 'HMRC Investigations'. I told him I wasn’t convinced it was legit. Got a voicemail from someone called Sarah Wilson at HMRC. I rang back and a bloke told me my case was in court at 1pm that day and my firm hadn’t paid the right tax for 2014-2015 so I’m blacklisted and owe £2400. When I asked where I supposedly worked and what proof he had, he just hung up. My disabled son was crying in the background. These people are awful.
