Got a phone call from some Indian bloke calling himself Eric, saying I’d apparently ordered weight loss pills (I ain’t thin but I wouldn’t touch that stuff with a bargepole). I only picked up since the number looked like my boss’s and for a sec I thought it was him lol. Nope, just some muppet who thinks I’m daft or something.

It’s pretty usual to put up an ad on Gumtree and then get swamped with annoying spam calls. This caller said they were from Carphone Warehouse but like always I just let them prattle on with “hello,” “hello,” “can you hear me?” before they have a moan and hang up since I never answer. If you’ve posted anything on Gumtree, now run by eBay, it’s likely your number got picked up from there.

Got a call from a bloke claiming to be from Carphone Warehouse, saying they'd passed on my number. I told him I was a solicitor and what they're doing was against the law. Then he quickly ended the call and blocked my number. Seems like that was enough to stop them ringing again, thankfully.

I only set my landline back up recently coz of all the annoying spam calls. So, when that number 020809893986 rang me two days ago and I couldn’t pick up, I left a message and then reported them to the Information Commissioner's office and Ofcom. This latest time, on 15 September 2018, I just reported it to Ofcom. Honestly thinking of cutting off the landline and sticking to my mobile instead. There’s three groups - the Information Commissioner, Ofcom and TPS - but none of them seem able to put a stop to these scam calls.

They rang me three times since I have a Sky maintenance contract, but I didn’t have the paperwork to hand, so I dodged the first two calls. On the third one, they tried to sell me a discount for 1 or 2 years, but only if I paid by direct debit, not card. Something felt off coz their tone wasn’t like how Sky staff normally talk. I asked to speak to a manager and requested a phone number I usually ring Sky on so I could double-check. They gave me a number, but it wasn’t one I recognised from my documents, so I didn’t trust it and said no to anything more.

I get round 10 calls daily from these annoying scammers and I never pick up. That said, I always look them up on this website. Got a call from "Sarah Khan", same name loads of others have mentioned. She said she was based in South West London but sounded like she was actually in Mumbai. Spent nearly half an hour trying to convince me she wasn’t a scammer, which is a massive red flag. Seems like they want your bank card details to either sell or steal money before you catch on. They use old phone lists with no real info, can’t give you any account details, and the number shows as '0208' but is clearly from overseas. Told 'Sarah' she should get a proper job instead of this nonsense.

definitely a dodgy caller, but way more sketchy than any ive met before. he claimed to work for sky tv or something, trying to sell me some cheap repair insurance deal. i asked him how he got my number and he got proper rude, calling me all sorts of names i wouldnt even dare say here. ive already reported him to the ico, they handle phone sales laws and stuff.
