Multiple users describe confusion and suspicion due to mismatched or inaccurate details, aggressive behaviour, and attempts to validate their claims with dubious references. As soon as the phone rang, Sky Talk shield answered right away, so I didn't get a chance to say much. The person on the other end ended the call straight away. Can't really add anything else about it.

Got a call from 02080893554, and there was a lot of racket from what sounded like a call centre behind the woman who rang me. She said she was from the department of work and pensions, but then wanted me to give my address which seemed a bit dodgy. I asked her for a reference number and she went quiet, couldn’t really answer. I just ended up blocking the number.

So I got a call from someone claiming to be from DWP and some domestic appliances company. They've been ringing my mum loads of times, saying there’s an issue with her pension and they need the rest of her bank info. When I phoned back that number and asked why they wanted her bank details over the phone, the person just hung up straight away. Quite dodgy if you ask me.

Please, never share your bank info with anyone who calls unexpectedly. My mum keeps getting these calls, and the people on the other end say her pension will be cancelled unless she hands over her card details. It's really scary and they've been pestering her non-stop. Stay safe and don't fall for it!

Someone rang my mum saying they were from the DWP and started talking about issues with her pension. It really threw her off and made her quite anxious. It's awful the way these scammers target older folks who don’t expect it. Luckily, she didn’t fall for it and didn’t share any personal info.

Just like loads of others, I got a really rude woman with an Asian accent ringing me up saying she was from the DWP about my mum’s pension. Problem is, she’s not even living here now. When I told her she was wasting her time, she got proper annoyed!

Got a call from a woman claiming to be from the DWP, sounded really abrupt and was talking way too quickly. She said there was an issue with my Visa card not matching my address and wanted the expiry date. I didn’t give her anything and just ended the call. This definitely feels like a scam, not the first time I’ve had one of these calls.

Got a call from a man with an Asian accent saying he was from the DWP. He told me my partner had a chat with a woman called Denise back on 19th October, but we’ve got no record of that anywhere. Then he gave me a number, claiming it was linked to a credit card. When I asked what that had to do with anything, I got passed onto another person. The call finished badly - that person got annoyed, threatened to stop the state pension, and then just hung up. Complete waste of time.

Just like others have said, a very pushy woman called claiming to be from the DWP wanting my Dad’s card info. I ended up speaking to her and she kept threatening that if I didn’t give it to her, my Dad’s pension would get stopped. I called the DWP myself and they said everything was fine with my Dad’s pension, they hadn’t phoned him at all, and advised me to notify the police about it.

I rang them back a couple of times. The first time a bloke answered and asked if I was over 65, when I said yes, he claimed to be from the DWP and said he’d put me through. He pretended to dial a few numbers but then came back on the line with a different voice. The second call, I said I wasn’t over 65, and then suddenly it was my insurance company telling me they’re “sorting their paperwork for November” and offering me three years free, yet they didn’t even know my name. Sounds like a proper scam to me.

I got a call where the person kicked off with "how's everything going for you today?" - immediately made me suspicious. Then they said it was regarding my pension. I asked who was speaking, and they claimed to be from the government. I replied asking why on earth I'd want to discuss my pension with them. They then snapped back with "don't be rude - I’m from the government, you shouldn't talk to me like that." So I just hung up. Funny how they acted like I was the one causing hassle!

Got a call from some bloke claiming to be from the DWP pensions, said I was owed some cash. Obviously sounded dodgy. He then started rattling off asking for my credit card number and expiry date (luckily it was an old card). I told him no way, and he got all confused, asking why not and how could they not use it. Seriously, why the heck would the DWP need my card details? Ended the call there.

I got a call from 02080893554, they said they were from the Department for Work and Pensions about some 2.5% pension rise. But then they started asking for my debit card details. I told them I reckoned it was a con and asked for a number to ring them back on, which they gave me. Didn’t bother calling at all!

Someone with an Asian accent rang my mum's home phone and asked straight away for her. I said she wasn’t in right now. Then he snapped, “No, you’re not out Mrs xxxx, I’m speaking to you.” I tried to tell him I was actually her daughter and asked who he was, but he wouldn’t say and kept on saying I was my mum. He even claimed he could tell it was a lie because he recognised my voice as hers. I got really annoyed, raised my voice, and then he ended the call.

Got a call from someone saying she was Elaine from the DWP. She already knew some of my card info and tried to get the last 3 digits off the back, but I didn’t give it to her. Felt a bit dodgy, so I just ended the call.

I've received yet another relentless call from someone attempting to sell me solar panels and loft insulation - both of which I already have, mind you. The caller started to get quite irate, insisting that I needed to upgrade both to qualify for some grants. It's rather ridiculous since the solar panels were fitted just two months back!
