Got a call from a woman with an Indian accent claiming to be from Domestic & General about my white goods insurance. She said they needed new bank card details since my card had changed. I wasn’t convinced, so I looked up her number online and found this very site. I told her straight it sounded fishy and asked where she was calling from. After a pause, she said she was supposedly at 143 Osborne Street, London. I warned her not to try scamming anyone else today and then ended the call.

I’ve been getting calls for years from people pretending to be from D and G, saying they’re renewing a policy that doesn’t even exist. Every time I ask for a policy number, they clam up, and they get annoyed when I don’t give them my actual bank info. I’ve blocked the number now, but I’m sure they’ll ring again soon using a different fake number.

Got a call about issues with rented property conditions, said it was from some Housing Disrepair group, asking if I had any damp or cracks. The lady on the other end had really poor English, made it tricky to follow, had to ask her to say things a couple of times. I said no, and she just thanked me and hung up. Could be legit, but I’m expecting any official notice from my housing provider in writing anyway.
