Got rung up 4 times just today by these lot. They've got some ancient list with info that's probly 10 years old, and they don't seem to care about data laws at all - just blurted out my name, address and number like it was nothing. The guy recited all my details without me confirming anything first. Proper careless if you ask me.

I got a call today from someone claiming to be from HMRC. It was a bloke with an Asian accent telling me i was going to court for tax fraud. He rattled on about all the legal stuff and when i asked what exactly i’d done wrong, he passed me to another guy, also with an Asian accent. This second man said i owed £4000 due to some tax recalculation. When i asked why i never got any letters or notices in the post, he said they had tried to come to my house twice but no ones been in. Honestly, it was a really upsetting call, but total scam.

Automated call, just like others have said, rang me twice today so I’ve blocked it now. Keep in mind you don’t win any prizes unless you actually enter a contest, and even then be cautious cos you’re just letting these lot share your info with dodgy callers like this one. HMRC or anyone else can’t prosecute you without sending a proper court summons first, so if you haven’t got one, you’re fine.

DON'T BE TRICKED BY THIS. I told the bloke I called HMRC to check and he asked what number I used. So I gave him HMRC's official line 0300 200 3300, and after a bit he rang me back but the number showed up as +3002003300, like he’d faked it or something. Really odd. Stay clear of it, it's 100% a scam and they can ring you back showing whatever number they like. Makes me wonder how many people get caught by this!!

Had loads of calls from them, saying I’m owed a tax refund of £3393. Then they said I had to sort it out in court or something?? I got really suspicious and kept pushing them, and the idiot just hung up when I didn’t play along.

Got two calls from this number and when I picked up, there was just an automated voice saying goodbye. I looked up the number online and found loads of comments about it. Then I rang back from another phone and some Indian bloke answered saying he was from HMRC. When I told him there was no way he was from HMRC cos I was, he just hung up on me.

Got a voicemail from some robot voice telling me to ring a hotline for HMRC. I find it hard to believe this is actually HMRC, they usually send letters or message you through your online account. If you get calls from people saying they’re HMRC, I’d suggest you log into your official account or get in touch with them via proper channels. There’s definitely more scams pretending to be HMRC going around lately.

FRAUD ALERT. Got two calls from this number and every time I picked up, they just said "goodbye" before hanging up. I called back and they started going on about me owing back taxes and some arrest warrant in my name from "federal" law or whatever. Got a call supposedly from HMRC saying I owed tax and I was facing court. They said there was a warrant out for my arrest and if I didn’t sort it on the phone, the police would get in touch. They tried pushing me to pay through what they said was the official HMRC site. I got a ring from someone saying they were with Lycamobile and that I’d won £50,000. They told me to look at a number on the back of my SIM card and then asked for my bank info, which I stupidly gave without really thinking. Then it hit me when he mentioned the money was coming from Dubai, which he claimed to be calling from. Suspicious much?
