I got a call from some place called National Care 'Home Dept' offering washing machine insurance. Seems like a dodgy scam, they ask for your bank info and then you could be in serious mess. Best to just hang up straight away. If you’ve got elderly or vulnerable family, definitely give them a heads up about this. Absolute scumbags, steer well clear.

Feels like one of those VOIP lines set up through a VPN from another place, given that odd "0" right after the outer London code 0208. Normal landlines wouldn't have a 0 there, they'd usually start with something between 2 and 9 back in the day. Pretty sure they allowed VOIP providers to use that '0' slot about 15 years ago. Standards? Nah, more like pay and get your number kind of deal.
