Got a call from a guy with an Asian accent saying he was from Scottish Power about our gas supply. Problem is, we neither use gas nor have any dealings with them. When I said we weren’t interested, he rudely replied, “I don’t care if you’re not, I want to talk to the business owner.” I just hung up on him. Honestly, he should try to find a proper job instead of wasting people’s time.

Now, it seems to be associated with a company in London, but the person who answered sounded Filipino or Chinese. Just be careful dealing with them! I've had calls from this number and others alike loads of times. They act like they don't care about the TPS at all and get really rude when you tell them they're supposed to check it. Honestly, cold calls like this shouldn't be happening in the first place.

Have a look at the two comments below this one - they explain exactly how to report these fraud calls if you really want to put a stop to them. Without proper reports, the police won’t have a clue how widespread these scams truly are or what kinds they’re dealing with. At the moment, fraud makes up around 40% of the crimes logged by the police. I’m convinced that if all these scam attempts were reported, that number would shoot up to nearly 99% or more. That’s the kind of wake-up call the authorities - and especially our MPs - really need!
