I finally gave in and answered the phone call after they'd made multiple attempts to reach me on my personal mobile-definitely not a work landline! I vaguely recall having had a chat with this or a similar group before, but I cannot for the life of me remember explicitly agreeing to support their child safety campaign, despite it sounding rather commendable at first glance. My intention was merely to gather further details. Strangely enough, none of the local schools appeared to have any knowledge of this initiative, or perhaps I just wasn’t talking to the right individuals? During the call today, the person on the other end made it crystal clear that they wouldn’t be providing me with a recording of my supposed consent. They mentioned I could request a transcript at some point in the future, and an invoice would be on its way. I was given just a week to cough up the payment, or I would face additional charges. To top it off, I have no documentation or email confirmation on my end. The way they spoke was quite coercive and unsettling, even for someone like me who's become quite savvy at dodging potential scams-accusing me of deliberately avoiding the sponsorship and forgetting a conversation that had ‘only taken place in December!!’ From my perspective, if this campaign is genuinely legitimate, this approach to business is utterly disgraceful. If it’s a sham, well, that just adds another layer to the story!
