Some bloke called Alex Jordan, sounded like he was Indian, said he was from TalkTalk. He claimed their system showed I was downloading loads of bad stuff. Problem is, I'm not even a TalkTalk customer!

I got this recorded message saying my connection with BT was about to be cut off today. It sounded off since BT usually talk about broadband, not just "internet". Thought it might be a scam so I hit 1 like it told me, and then ended up talking to a woman named "Jennifer Atkins". I asked her for a phone number to ring back just to check it was legit, she gave me one. Then I asked why her accent didn't match a name like that and she just hung up on me.

This number rang me up saying they were from British Telecom and worked with Virgin. It started as an automated voice but then got through to an actual person who told me my internet had some malware issues. They wanted me to download some software, but I told them I'd ring back using the official BT contact number to check. Definitely a scam.

Got a call earlier today from someone saying they were with BT. Tried ringing the number they gave me but it seems like it’s no longer in service. Told the woman to give me a ring tomorrow instead. Looks like it’s gonna be an interesting day!

Today at about 9.39am I got a call from a bloke with a heavy accent claiming to be from Talk Talk. He told me our internet had been hacked and our personal info was in danger. He asked what sort of IT gadgets we had. When I asked for his details to call back, he said his name was Jack Martin and gave me a number. Interestingly, the call actually came through from 0181419968. I’m pretty sure this was a scam, so didn’t bother calling back. Afterwards, we got another call from 01895626358, which this site also lists as a scam number.

18.4.18 - This number has been ringing my workplace lately. Yesterday, it was one of those robotic calls saying our internet would be cut off in five minutes unless we returned their call. Today, someone actually answered and pretended to be from Talk Talk, wanting to "help" us with our phone and computer setup. Luckily, my manager picked up - she's sharp and wasn't fooled by all the nonsense, even though it unsettled her a bit, and she ended the call straight away.

I got a call from a man with an Indian accent claiming to be from TalkTalk’s tech team. He told me there was some kind of fault with my router that was causing it to act up on and off. He asked me how many lights were on and which ones were flashing, and whether I was using a laptop or desktop. He also said I wouldn’t be charged for any help. I told him I was about to go out and asked for a number to call back. He gave me 02080773478. After checking with TalkTalk’s actual tech support, they told me it was a scam and said they’d forward the number to their fraud department.
