Got a call sayin there’s a risky file on my computer and to press 1 to speak to the fraud dept. Didn’t press anything and they just ended the call - definitely sounds like a scam to me.

When you block your number and ring them, it goes straight to a message saying the number’s been disconnected ‘cause of fraud. They tell you to get in touch with Action Fraud. Total scammers! (Honestly, that’s exactly what I meant!!)

Got a call from someone saying they were Domestic and General about my washing machine. I didn’t really suspect anything at first until they mentioned a final payment that was much higher than my usual bill. Rang Domestic & General myself and they told me it definitely wasn’t them. I’ve now alerted my bank and their fraud department just to be safe.

Got a call on my phone from this number earlier. They were saying I could get cheaper insurance for my washing machine and asked me to confirm my bank info. They kept pushing but I don’t even have insurance for my washing machine and told them I’m not sharing bank details on the phone. I couldn’t quite make out what they were on about but it had something to do with insuring my washing machine. I told them I’d gladly renew with them no matter the cost if they could just tell me what kind of washing machine I own, then suddenly the line just cut off. These lot are proper scammers. My sister got like four calls from them yesterday. Best to just ignore or tell ’em you don’t even have a washing machine, say you do your washing in the river or something!

They rang asking if it was Miss (my surname), and I dumbly said yes. The lady then went on about covering the warranty for a washing machine and said I had to pay some fee or something. I'm just a kid so I thought it was about my mum's stuff, so when I told her how old I was and that we don't have a washing machine, she said she'd "fix the records"! Now reading here, I get it was a scam. Just a heads up, kids should be warned cause I nearly got tricked!

Got a call from someone claiming to be from "Domestic Appliance" about insuring my washing machine. Thing is, I don’t even have one since I live with my parents. Told the bloke that, and there was a pause, then he just said, "Well, I’m sure you will have one," and hung up. They’ve been ringing a couple of times over the past week but I ignored them until today. Sounds like a scam trying to trick you into handing over your bank info to "renew" some insurance that doesn’t even exist. Don’t fall for it!

Got a few calls on my phone, but only answered this one. The bloke said he was with DAB and mentioned cover for my washing machine. Claimed they usually renew it automatically but now needed my okay. I told him he had the wrong person since I never bought a washing machine, and then he just hung up. Seems like a dodgy attempt to con people out of their cash.

I picked up and they called out my last name. I confirmed it, but then I caught someone in the background saying "that just went straight past your head, mate". They ended the call right after that. Blocked them straight away.

Got loads of missed calls from this number in the past couple of days. Tried ringing back but it just cuts off straight away. Finally answered today, a bloke asked if I was a certain person, I said yeah, then he just ended the call. They should at least tell you why they're calling so we can report them to OFCOM or something. Proper frustrating!

Total con artists. Some bloke called claiming they deal with washing machine coverage. I played along, asking which washing machine exactly they meant. He just cut the call straight away.

Total scammers. The guy sounded like a typical London bloke, but he seemed a bit jittery. He said something like, "We’re the people who cover your washing machine." I replied, "Right, which washing machine are you talking about?" and then he just ended the call.

Checked this site before picking up. Some bloke with a Cockney accent called, knew my name straight away. I didn’t give anything away but asked if he was ringing about washing machine insurance. He said no, but sounded pretty calm, not fazed at all. Then I asked what he was promoting, and he said he wasn’t selling a thing. Told him I was glad I asked why he was calling, then he just hung up on me. No clue what it was about, but it gave my mate a good laugh and nearly made him snort his drink out, so all good in the end.
