The number probably stays active because people don’t bother reporting it to the authorities. Just search for 'action fraud' and head to the police.uk website. Look for the phishing report section and scroll to the bottom to begin your report. It’s mostly quick tick-box questions, plus a free text box if you want to add more details. No need to sign up or anything. Honestly, it’s quicker than posting on here.
