To my surprise, she then transferred me to a supervisor, who promptly requested the same information. When I turned the tables and asked him to share the particulars first, he simply cut the line. Quite the odd experience, I must say!

Just like many others here, this was a scam from those accident claim firms. I picked up and they said I’d been involved in some accident. I was like, really? They insisted they knew about it, so I said no and they just cut me off. Blocked straight away.

What an infuriating phone call! It was from some so-called Calamity Advice company. This marks the second time today that they’ve tried to get hold of me. The first attempt came through as a pre-recorded message, and I presume that because I picked up the phone, they decided to send an actual person next. When I inquired how they obtained my number, she mentioned she’d connect me to her supervisor for further assistance. Look, I get the advice about not answering calls from unknown numbers, but with my elderly mother, I need to be vigilant in case there's something concerning her health. Many folks can relate to this plight! What stood out to me was that the number wasn’t displayed until after I answered, so it was only in hindsight that I realised I was dealing with spam. I was under the impression that these bothersome calls were being curbed!

They claimed to represent the Calamity Advice Company, and proceeded to ask if I had been in a car crash that wasn’t my fault. Well, that's a definite 'no' from me!
