Somebody called asking if I had been in a car crash. I told them no, I dont even own a car. Then the lady said she’d connect me to her supervisor. The supervisor came on and asked if I’d had a car accident or a work accident. I said no again and asked why they were even asking me. But before I could get an answer, the call was cut off.

Got a call today just before 5pm from a young lady claiming to be from some place called Calamity or something similar. She said they were told I’d been in a car crash that wasn’t my fault. I admitted it was true but said it happened way back in 1976. She then just ended the call. I wish I’d played along a bit more to see where it went. When I tried to ring the number back, it said “invalid number”. How can calls come from numbers that aren't even valid? Feels like the phone companies must be letting this happen or even helping these scammers out.
