Honestly, the first person who called me sounded like it could have been an AI robot.2 yearsSomebody rang me pretending to be from Scottish Power, saying if I switched my energy supplier, any outstanding balance would vanish - even though I told them I owed about £2,000. They insisted I send over a picture of my meter and a copy of my electric bill. I thought the bill might be used by them to confirm my address, perhaps for opening bank accounts or something dodgy like identity theft.
