I keep getting calls from 02080 560 494 on my mobile, and it happens nearly every day. It’s a number I don’t know, so I just let it ring without picking up. The latest call was on 30th December 2022 at 18:02. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to block these calls? Any tips would be appreciated!

I rang the free number for British Gas, which is 03332029804. However, my phone logs show a 0208 number popping up around that time. I suppose it redirects to the 0208 line? Regardless, the call was answered by British Gas, so it seems legitimate.

I received a call from a chap claiming that I’d purchased two fruit trees back in July, which is indeed true. However, he appeared to know my name and address, which was rather concerning. He went on to mention a £50 voucher on the way to me in the next three days, as well as some subscription service from a company called Premier. He mentioned that if I chose to fill out some form, I would be charged £79 annually. I was a bit dubious about whether it was dodgy or legitimate, and my phone identified the call as a potential scam, so I promptly hung up.

I received a call from a woman with an American accent claiming I was due to receive some vouchers to spend. I told her to donate mine to a charity or a more deserving cause, and then they abruptly hung up. It felt like quite the nuisance call!
