I got a call from a rewards firm claiming I’d bought something from a partner catalogue and I’d get a cashback voucher, then could pay if I wanted to go on. I told them I hadn’t ordered anything like that. They kept trying to chat but I told them I was at work and couldn’t talk. I reckon it all started when I ordered from EasyLife catalogue, even though I ticked the box saying no 3rd party contact. Also got a dodgy text about a problem with iPhone pay with a link, just two days after using EasyLife catalogue.

They already had my name and address and said “you’ve ordered from one of our catalogues, so I’m sending you a £50 voucher that you can use whenever you like.” Then they tried to add, “Also, I’m sending you a year’s worth of Choice vouchers, but you can call to cancel if you want.” I said, “NO, don’t send me anything, I don’t want it,” and they just hung up on me. Not the kind of call I wanted!
