Sounds like it really is from ACTION FRAUD. A little while back I tried reporting an eBay scam to them. The whole thing was handled over email and it finished with a message saying ‘case closed’ (honestly, they weren’t much help). Then out of nowhere, this number started calling me with voicemails from a guy speaking with a strong Scottish accent. Took me a few listens to catch that he said ‘Action Fraud’. I'm really frustrated! I answered this call, and like others, thought it was from ACTION FRAUD, checking in after I'd been scammed online. The woman on the phone was very polite and asked several questions to see if my problems had been sorted out. She even gave me websites to help me stay safe online and a site for checking my credit. Honestly, the smartest move is to just ignore them completely. But if you feel like doing more: 1) block the number right away and send a report to 7726 2) If you have the time and patience, report it to as many places as possible like Action Fraud, Citizen Advice, Ofcom, National Cyber Security Centre, ICO, and all that.

Got two calls from this number. When I picked up, there was just silence. I tried calling back both times: the first time, I got a message sounding just like ActionFraud’s official one, then silence; the second time, the call ended immediately. I looked up ActionFraud online and got in touch with them. Definitely a scam call.

Yesterday, I received a message from someone who claimed to be from The Fraud Squad. They mentioned that they would be calling me back today. However, I have already been contacted by the real Fraud Squad, and they informed me that the case has been closed!

I received a call claiming to be from Action Fraud, but upon checking the number, I am unsure if it is a legitimate call. I have observed that a few people have already confirmed with Action Fraud that it is not their official number. This is quite concerning!

Got a call from Action Fraud about a report I made. They left a voicemail and then phoned again the following day to check in.

Even tho I didnt pick up the call, I got a voicemail from a girl claiming to be from action fraud. Can’t say for sure if it’s genuine but I did report some dodgy payment like 6 weeks back, so maybe this is a follow-up. I gotta admit, they’re pretty persistent and rang me several times.

I received a call from 02080520991 claiming to be from Action Fraud regarding a fraud case I reported last month. They asked if I would like to discuss it with them. Interestingly, there was an answering machine message on this number, also claiming to be from Action Fraud. However, I checked online and found that this number does not belong to Action Fraud.

This call is really from action fraud. Its a VCOA team doing follow ups. They work every day of the week. Super helpful and give advice on how to avoid fraud. They dont ask personal stuff, just wanna help crime victims.
