5 yearsas soon as i picked up the phone, I just ended the call straight away.5 yearsI had just filed a fraud report when this woman rang me up, talking super fast, claiming she was from some fraud dept. She asked about stuff that made no sense with my situation, and when I sounded confused, she just cut me off and hung up straight away. Really odd.5 yearsGot a call from some scammer, total waste of time.5 yearsI called the number 0300 123 2040 around 12:03 pm to report a scam. After I hung up, I noticed that another caller had joined the line at 12:29 pm. The extra number was 0208 0520 990. This all happened on Saturday, 30th October 2021.5 yearsThis number keeps ringing me on my home phone and also on my partner’s mobile. We experienced a fraud attempt which we reported straight away to actionfraud and the banks involved. After that, we put the number on block. I’m no expert but think it’s possible actionfraud’s systems might’ve been compromised. At the very least, this number is a nuisance, maybe worse.Action Fraud5 yearsSince this number was flagged before, we decided not to pick up and just blocked it. Big thanks to 'who-called.co.uk' for the heads up!5 yearsthis wasnt a scam or anything dodgy, just about some fraud stuff. they left me a voicemail and used my name because i'd told them about a fraud attempt a few months back. they were just ringing to follow up and have a quick 5 minute talk. i'll get back to them tomorrow since i already know who they are.5 yearsI received a call from a gentleman, presumably in his thirties or forties, claiming to represent Fraud Action. He mentioned that I had expressed interest in getting assistance when I reported my case to the Fraud Squad back in April, which was four months prior. Oddly enough, we had just touched down in Scotland for a holiday moments before his call and the fellow spoke in a rather posh Scottish accent. Curious, I probed him for specifics about my case, but he claimed he was unable to provide any details, despite my earlier request for updates on the situation. He suggested he could reach out again later or send me an email sometime next week. I informed him that waiting four months was simply too long for support, and clearly, his services were no longer necessary. He sounded rather let down by my response. What puzzled me was how he had any knowledge of my claim if he wasn’t legitimate; it almost made me wonder if there’s a breach in their system somewhere.Fraud ActionFraud SquadScotland5 years***ABSOLUTELY NOT A SCAM*** Honestly, I find it baffling how many people have jumped to the conclusion that this is a fraudulent call. Not a single one of them has taken the time to *verify* with Action Fraud to see if this number is genuine. I did exactly that just moments ago, and guess what? It *IS* from ACTION FRAUD. It's the Victim Contact Centre they're calling from. This number doesn’t accept incoming calls, and I was told they may ring you up to three times to connect with you. If you're getting a call, it’s likely because you’ve opted for "Yes, I would like to receive further support for victims" on your Action Fraud report. It could take a few months for them to reach out, so it’s perfectly understandable if it slips your mind, but that’s no excuse for failing to do a quick verification. When the Victim Contact Officer leaves a message, they’ll say their first name and mention yours as well as the date of your initial report, plus they’ll specify which day they'll make another attempt - usually a day or two later. An easy extra step to confirm the legitimacy of the call would be to ask for the AF Report Reference Number and check it on Action Fraud's site against your report. A scammer wouldn’t have any of that information on hand. Some folks really seem to lack the most basic common sense… 🙄ABSOLUTELYAction FraudVictim Contact Centre5 yearsThis is above board. It’s indeed the AF - that's their Victim Contact Officer reaching out, likely due to your indication for assistance in the initial AF Report you submitted. While they might not hold the title of Police Officers, they won't be in a position to divulge any details about ongoing legal matters, should there be any at the point they get in touch with you.AF5 yearsThis is definitely not a con artist. It’s actually the AF Victim Contact Centre. You would have realised this had you taken a moment to verify with AF.AF Victim Contact CentreAF5 yearsgot a call saying i was in big trouble for fraud and the global police were after me. called my local cops and they told me it was definitely a scam. they said if there was real trouble, they’d come to my house, not just ring me up. also, don’t hit 9 on the keypad, they just want to scam your cash.Interpol5 yearsI received a call that supposedly came from Action Fraud. The chap on the line had a heavy Scottish accent, and to be perfectly honest, I couldn’t make heads or tails of what he was saying.Action Fraud5 yearsI've had this number ring me a few times, but my phone flagged it as possibly dodgy and advised me not to pick up. It says they've left a voicemail, but when I check, it's just dead silence with no message at all.5 yearsReceived a call earlier today from someone claiming to represent Acton Fraud. They seemed to have knowledge of a scam we'd encountered previously, which was a bit alarming. Be wary of this one; it felt scripted, and they spoke at an incredible pace. Their accent was distinctly Glaswegian!Acton Fraud5 yearsI received a rather dodgy call from someone purporting to be associated with Action Fraud.
