Received a call from someone trying to push medical alert bracelets - definitely felt like a scam to me.

Some bloke called me, said his name was Alex and claimed he worked for some company I can’t quite remember. He wanted to know if I’d heard about some new government rules that might let them use a homeowner’s finances to cover care costs when you’re older. I told him I’d been keeping up with it pretty well until recently. Then he asked if my house was protected. I said it was still in progress, nothing official done yet. He then told me to expect another call “anytime tomorrow, even late,” and asked if that was alright. I asked him his name and the company again, but told him I was looking for a pen to write it down. Not long after, he just hung up on me. The pause between what he said was odd, like there were long gaps. Made me wonder if it was some sort of AI voice or something. Doesn’t really matter though - I’d never give out anything personal to a cold caller. I decided to check the number using 1471 and it turns out loads of people had reported getting calls from it too, mostly for random stuff like personal alarms and other nonsense.

I picked up but no one answered, then the call just got cut off. I ended up blocking the number.

Rang on my landline from this number, answered up and there was a bloke with a posh English accent on the line. He was going on about estate planning and asked if I'd heard on the BBC that the Government might be seizing homes to cover care costs. Didn't like the sound of it so I just ended the call there.

Someone calling claiming to be from a health service kept going on about this alarm pendant for people with medical problems. I said I wasn’t interested in any pendant, and he just said he respected my choice and hoped I had a great day.

I didn’t pick up cause I didn’t know the number. As soon as the voicemail started, the call was cut off.

Got a call from someone claiming to be a "health care provider" who said they were giving out "free pendant alarms." I asked him which company he was with, and suddenly he just stopped talking. Not interested at all, so I ended the call.

Got a phone call but didn’t pick up, seemed like one of those spam numbers to me.

I got a call from someone saying I was a vulnerable person and might need a pendant alarm because of my health. When I asked them who gave them my details and what company they were from, they just ended the call. That sort of dodgy behaviour makes me think it’s just another scam.

Got a call from someone saying they were from a health service in Dorset, trying to sell me a pendant. I told them I already have one but they kept going. Just hung up - definite scam.

Some bloke rang me claiming to be from a healthcare company, saying I could get a free alert button for falls because of my supposed health problems. I asked what exactly he thought was wrong with me, but then he just went quiet. I figured he was hoping I’d end the call, so after about 15 or 20 seconds I hung up. Sounds like one of those dodgy scam calls if you ask me.

Somebody named ‘Sam’ rang me saying he was my local health advisor, but the number was from London and I’m based in the North West. When I asked which company he was calling from, since I’m registered with the Telephone Preference Service, he wouldn’t say. Instead, he just told me to have a great day, but the way he said it didn’t feel honest at all!

Got a call on my landline from some robotic voice talking about a free pendant thing. Definitely not a human on the other end. I just ended the call and blocked the number straight away thanks to my call blocker. Total scam, don’t waste your time! SCAM SCAM SCAM.

I got a call on my home phone about some kind of alarm device you wear on your neck. The person claimed to have details suggesting I had medical problems and that I was eligible for a free device. Normally I would have wanted to know where they got my info from, but I chose not to engage any further. The caller was quite pushy and kept talking over me constantly. I told him repeatedly I wasn’t interested and warned that I’d hang up if he didn’t stop. In the end, I ended the call pretty sharpish.

What a sham! Even though we're on the telephone preference service, those dodgy scammers still manage to get through. This time, they're peddling some medical nonsense. It's the same old number that previously tried to sell insulation!

Answered a call just now and there was silence on the other end. I hung up straight away.

Got a weird call the other day. Some bloke asked if I could hear him, and I replied yes. Then outta nowhere, he just says “I respect your decision, have a good one” and hangs up. Funny thing is, I usually don’t answer yes if people ask if I can hear them - seems like they get creeped out or something!

This guy called saying he was from our local health services and offered a free alarm for medical purposes. He said his name was Sam. I let him talk for a bit and then ended the call, saying “Cheers, Sam”.

I got a call from someone claiming to be a medical rep in my neighbourhood, saying I qualify for some free health service because of medical problems. They didn't even bother using my name, so I instantly thought it was dodgy. Sounds like they're just trying to fish for info.

Got a call from 02080 402723 earlier today, some bloke said he was a health expert offering me a neck health monitor for £1.70 daily, asked if I’m over 60. Clearly, they've no clue about me. I just said I wasn't interested and ended the call. Feels like a dodgy scam trying to nick bank info.

Got a call on my home phone from a man speaking in a very proper English accent. He claimed he got my info from my local doctor's office and said I could get a free emergency pendant because of my medical problems. I pressed him on where he got my details from and questioned him more. He insisted I was eligible since I’m over 70 and have several health conditions. None of this is true. Feels like a dodgy scam trying to target elderly and vulnerable people.
