Got a call from 01163183544, this woman said she was ringing from Canary Wharf in London, number 02080049082. She tried to get me to hand over my card details, saying I could save money on transaction fees. I asked for her date of birth just to check, but she wouldn't give it. Don’t fall for this one, keep your info safe!

Fraudulent activity involving card machines is on the rise.

Got a call out of the blue from a number I found on your site about card payments. The caller claimed to be calling from London, which was completely untrue. Honestly, these folks are just scammers and con artists. They act like they’re superior to everyone else, which reminds me of narcissistic personality disorder - it’s a mental condition where someone genuinely thinks they’re above others. Sure, many have a bit of that attitude, but for those with NPD, it really disrupts their relationships and day-to-day life. Their goal? To rob you blind. Best advice: avoid them at all costs!

Sounds like one of those Indian call centres just out to scam you and grab your cash with whatever nonsense story they spin. Best thing to do is report it to the police or go to phishing.gov.uk and let them know.

Complete scam alert! They claimed to have won me £2550 plus £1550 in interest from my bank for some PPI deal. When they asked which bank I use, I said “Bank of London” (which isn’t real), and they didn’t notice. Then they gave me a reference and ID number, insisting they never ask for bank or card info and said the money was stored in some kind of digital wallet? After that, I got transferred to another guy with an Asian accent who asked for those numbers, but I fed him made-up ones. continued below...

So this bloke phoned me, saying he could get me proper Indian food for way less than the place I usually go to. I didn't hesitate and gave them my card info right away. He also promised I'd get a free ring ring along with my first Tika Masala order. Quite the tempting offer!

Had another annoying call from India today, that’s the third one already. This one was about some card reader machines. Proper fed up with these Indian scam calls, especially when companies like VONAGE LTSD keep providing the phone lines they use to ring us up!!!!!!!!!!

They said they were from PAYMETRYX LTD, supposedly located in Canary Wharf. But if you look into it, it’s just serviced offices there, probably just a PO box that companies use to say they’re in London. I could hear loads of Indian accents in the background, and they were really pushy over the phone. Definitely don’t hand over any of your information to them.

Got a call from a place called something like Telemetrics, but honestly, there was so much noise and people talking in the background that I could barely catch what they were saying. They wanted to check the security on my business's card reader, but the thing is, I don't even have one.

Thought it was some folk from Worldpay, so I cut the call, then they beeped me back!

Got a call from someone claiming to be from Worldpay, asking where we got our card machine from - which is Worldpay, obviously. The guy’s English was all over the place, sounded like he picked it up from some American TV shows. He kept calling me "Mam" like he thought that was proper here. Honestly, they need to sort out their time zone maths, trying to catch me out early morning - like, do they even know what time it is in Asia?! I just have a chuckle and mess around with them when I’ve got a minute to spare.

Total con. They claim to be with WorldPay's Paymetrics but won't answer any of your questions. Don’t be tricked just because they know the name of your employer.

I received a phone call from someone claiming to be with World Pay, discussing card readers and payment solutions. It sounded like they were based in an international call centre. Considering the nature of the conversation, I suspect it's a fraudulent attempt related to card payments. Definitely a scam!
